Hi terexuk,

If you're just trying to make backup copies of your Workbench disk sets, why not try simply copying the disks using Copy from the Worbench Icons menu?

Hi prowler,
ive only got adfs , thought it would be a simple matter of backing up from these.

Are the floppy disks you're using DSDD type (720kB)?

If they are the now more common DSHD type (1.44MB) disks, then they may not work properly on your Amiga, even with the HD sensing hole covered, and this could be causing the problem.

Terexuk:

Can you first confirm that the ADF's are okay, by accessing them in WinUAE (We all have Amikit installed right ?, or ClassicWB).

If they are indeed fine, then try

1) that you are using DSDD (2DD) floppies (Standard Density, 720 PC, 880 Amiga) disks.

2) try another program, like TransADF (From Aminet).

yes i ve tried both dsdd and high density ,adfs are fine in winuae no probs, i think transadf is used by easyadf . other things ive tried include reinstalling wb 3.0 instead of 3.1 , floppy reads and writes ok in general copy ie : writing to disk using copy and then reading back no probs .formating disks is ok just cant get adfs to work

How did you transfer the ADFs to the Amiga ? Perhaps they were malformed during the transport. If you use CrossDOS it could be set up so that newline characters are converted which renders binary files useless.

they were added when i set up hd on winuae, just put them in a folder ready for copying. they were taken from a mounted volume from within winuae ??

Do they work if you mount them using Diskimage or FMS ?

Did you check MaxTransfer on the HDD ? The internal IDE bus corrupts files if MaxTransfer is higher than 128K (0x20000). This even happens in WinUAE, so you might have to copy the files again after you corrected the MaxTransfer value.

Try TSGUI with format and verify options enabled.
