Hello from Adelaide Australia

Hi Folks, I've been lurking on the forum for some time now, but have finally registered. I was heavily involved in the local scene in Adelaide late 80's early 90's. Regrettably moved away from the Amiga mid 90's but am now getting back into playing older games that bring back many memories.
Currently running a MisTer but am looking for an A1200 to be my main machine. I also have 3 C64 PC's 2 C64C's and a breadbin C64.

I'm watching the development of the Mega65 closely and will jump onboard if it gets off the ground.

Mick

@Mickoz, welcome - pretty soon there will be another option for convenient retro-Amiga gaming.. A standalone "Vampire V4" board/computer.

Good luck getting an a1200 from Australia without selling your lungs.. I never got the opportunity to own one beside my a500's

I may have to source it from UK or Poland. Pretty keen, although the Vampire looks like it may work too.

Welcome Mick.
Yeah I was one of those. Unfortunately I had drunk the Microsoft PC cool-aid.

Too right!! Since they introduced having to pay GST for SECOND-HAND items (so mad with that) on eBay combined with now charging import duties for items under $1000 has made getting Amiga gear from overseas prohibitively expensive. And the prices that Aussie sellers charge is equally bad.

It brings me to tears when I hear of stories of people in USA and UK that are able to find an A500 for $50/$100 from someone who was eager to get rid of it. It's too hard to get anything like that here in Aus.

Pretty soon I reckon. There will be some V4SA's being sold at Amiga34 to those that attend.
