Thats right your A1200 would have the limations of the machine the state was made on.
Ive not tried HD -But for instance PowerCopy wont load on A1200 because of the Kickstart difference but games that dont use the os MIGHT work.

What did Toni mean with "Kickstart also must match 100% if OS is not disabled in statefile"?
Perhaps disabling OS in statefile (how?) is the solution.

Maybe you freezed a short program (the file was just 99k) and with bigger memory usage it crashes...would you do a try with something else? At the moment, I'm trying to freeze Kickoff 2 CV 1.0 and the freezefile is about 400K.

If you're freezing from within WinUAE, which configuration are you using?
And which is your real A600's configuration?

They both work on my A600.
A PowerCopy dump would *really* be useful if it could see (after being loaded) the hard disk. So it would be possible to save on DEV:

This is why I should make a dump on a WinUAE config. identical to the A600HD I have.

You should use A500 with 512KB chip only, and no additional chip/fast/trapdoor ram . Then save the state (with AR3). Is this what you did?

Games that dont use the Os like you said 512Kb chip probably work with 1mb
also turn off all extras in the F3 menu -Reset. -

Dos stuff is kickstart specific and Pcopy was made with kick 37.300 and will probably only work on that kick.

YEP, but like this Aload later says I've not fast enought fast! Freezing 1mb chip works ok, but it hangs later!

Just Explain to me When I try and save to DEV: it cant lock?
How big is the DEV file when created?
And how many floppy drives do you have?

DEV: (DEVICE) is a directory (on hard disk of CF) specified/assigned by the user, so that PowerCopy will save in it instead that in RAM:.
If you copy a disk from DF0: to DEV:, PowerCopy will create n files (2 files for each read track, upper and lower side).

Then you'll be able to copy from DEV: to DF0:, thus making a copy of the original disk.

I will try it also, because:
- AR3 is not supposed to work with KS 2.x and above
- PowerCopy only works on KS 2.x and above

Mmmm, this could be interesting!
Which files did you find in RAM: devicedrawer (after copying the 40 tracks in RAM: with PowerCopy) ?
Did you put the copy and dir command in RAM: before snapshotting?

I'm asking all this because I couldn't copy RAM:devicedrawer content to floppy. But that's probably because I'm very busy now and can't investigate further...

This is not true, it prevents the amiga to /bootwork, but it works. Try to put AR roms with 2.x and freeze, you correctly go into it's screen.
