Has Galahad started working on PM again then? I used to test his early efforts. If he has, I'd love to represent the Kick Off Association as a beta tester.

The last version I received from his was sent on October 19th, 2005. You could play the first full season with it with no problems and start the next one, but the moment you tried to save the game after that it crashed.

That is an early beta, done 2 years ago. I have a slightly more recent one. But if Galahad has progressed with the file since then (which he obviously has, as the last date in the WHDLoad page is 28.5.2006), then testing this will be a waste of time.

In any case, I sent an e-mail to Galahad, let's hear what he has to say about it.

Speaking of communities, if you guys like Player Manager and the Kick Off series, you should join the Kick Off Association.

Latest news on the WHDLoad site is May 2006 (I think) its still at 90% and beta testing stage. Not sure what beta version of the game I played but everything seemed to be working on it. He wasn't that far off finishing it. Maybe the beta testers never got back to him or something so he never bothered officially releasing it.
Kick off 2 is still in beta as well. The only bug in that though was the crowd cheering when you came out at first, the sound wouldn't play. All you needed to do was escape the game and the sound was fine after that. I can't remember if you still needed a floppy to save on for both kick off 2 and player manager. |
