Opting out of "Off-Topic"

Is there any way I can prevent "Off-Topic" being listed when I click "Show unread posts"?

The amount of SPAM in that section of the forum at the moment has reached an all time high with several members deserving to get slapped, but they would no-doubtbly enjoy that!

Yep, make yourself a boomark using the format: http://eab.abime.net/search.php?do=...&include=1,2,3

Only list the forums you're interested in monitoring (you can find their ID numbers by hovering over the links on the forum index page).

User CP / Edit Options / Exclude Forums from "Get New Posts". (I also filter Off topic, and it does work with "show unread posts" too)

Is there a way to filter out threads started by a specific user/s?

Me too.

Be nice if the mods just deleted those stupid threads - quality of EAB has suffered lately.

I gave up waiting for Jelsoft to implement this a long time ago. Good to know they finally got round to it.

I don't lose any sleep over the odd pointless post providing it's witty, but do we really need a dozen 'so and so is gay' threads? If you're going to waste bandwidth at least put some effort into it.

Jelsoft did nothing about this yet, it's one hack

Opting out of any area once logged in still does not seem enough for some of you.

This is understandable for those who interest is specialist & the time you spend on this board is squeezed into already tight shedules.

Perhaps for a small subsciption number or specialist group there may be a way for a custom setup to be made..as to make it available to everyone would tie up too many EAB resources filtering out the unwanted specifics.

I can only ask is this a possible option within the current setup

"Ignore user" is your friend:

Open profile of this user and on the very right there's the option "Add <user> to your ignore list". Simple as that, eh?

Er yes, it will be in all forums then. As if the guy didn't exist (for you).
Ignoring user X and Y for forum Z only would be an option that I haven't ever seen on *any* forum, be it vBB or phpBB or whatever. I wager you will not get this anywhere.
Workaround: Do not read OT at all

What happened to the Exclude Forums from "Get New Posts" section of the options page? It seems to have vanished both in Camino and Safari.
