Ermm. Well, Enigma, if it isn't shown in the list above you or on your left when creating a new message, I'd say there's no such "icon" available (yet).

The closest to an icon I could get without knowing more would be the € key. And I highly doubt that's probably not it.

If you have character map installed, you can select it directly from there. I think it's installed by default during windows setup or save this page and copy paste it from here whenever you want it ----> €

What I did some time back was do a search on Google for the word umlat. Then I checked a few of the hits it found and one of them was a table of non-standard ASCII chars. I bookmarked that page for convenience (then added it to my Personal Toolbar), and also saved the html to text. From that point on, I had any of the special characters I needed for cut and pasting. Any special chars, however, are easy to find anytime using Google.
