Ambermoon Slideshow
Hello everyone,
I'm new to this board and I hope that I post this request at the right place. While surfing the net, I found an interesting looking file called "AMBERMD.LHA" which should be an Ambermoon Slideshow by Thalion. I tried to download the file but it didn't work. Some screens in a foreign language appeared (I guess some "Log in form"). I didn't manage to register or login because I don't understand the language. URL of the website: http://www.mbnet.fi/Apaja/alueet/tie...rder=ASC&All=1 File URL: http://www.mbnet.fi/Apaja/Kopioi.asp.../AMBERMD%2ELHA Is anybody able to understand the language, download the file and post it here? I didn't find another source for that file in the net. Thanks for your help. Gerry |

I just tried that Ambermoon slideshow on the Real Amiga.
It works fine and is English language, doesn't need to speak any Finnish ;-) Btw, I just tried that great game Ambermoon and noticed that saving game state didn't work at all. I got some strange message about i/o error and then the game quit to dos. I think i need the Ambermoon save disk. It would be nice if it could be uploaded to the Z. ps. how about whd-installed Ambermoon, does it exist ? Thanks in advance, great athmospheric game ! ;-) |

@Gerry and other
Just uploaded it to the Z. I did manage to download it because I'm really Finnish and I have rights to access the site of the Finnish cmagazine "Mikrobitti". :-) |

@DamienD
Thanks. I already get the game to work, by making a new installation (with WinUAE). :-) So, it works, but there was some known bugs in English version of AM. Maybe some helpful soul will help with them. Well, how about some kind of Ambermoon "remake" project ..? :-) |

Hey macce2,
Hmmm, I think there is a know list of bugs with the English version of Ambermoon (as you've discovered)... I'm sure there's a list of all known / found bugs somewhere You should really ask the Thalion god i.e. alexh. Check out his webshrine If memory serves me correctly the English version was very, very hard to find and it was alexh who managed to track it down |

Thanks, Damien. That's a good idea to ask alexh about that, I thought that too. Btw, I liked Amberstar too, only a bit too difficult to me. |

Hi,
thanks to everyone for your help I converted the Ambermoon slideshow to HTML and offer a bootable adf-file for download (http://mitglied.lycos.de/thalionsour..._Slideshow.htm). Have a nice sunday. Gerry |

As soon as the Thalion Webshrine gets back (we recently lost our hosting after 9 years) we'll release the data files with all of the fixes for Ambermoon.
I've been holding out because the fixes could have more bugs than the originals but I guess that if no-one ever tries them we'll never know. |
