Help: I am thinking about Minimig

Hello,
I am thinking about buying Minimig, I have some questions, please who do have Minimigs at home, or uses it, please try to help me, if I should buy it or not.

I want minimig to play all possible existing Amiga games, and use my collection of adf (music, samples, savegames and so on), and the whdload collection
so my questions :

1) can minimig read the adf files (or mount them ? )
2) can be WB3.1 installed on minimig as on HDD on real amiga ?
3) can be WINUAE hdd file transfered to minimig ?
4) can be whdload used with minimig ?

then some compatibility related question: is the minimig 98% compatible with amiga games (ocs/ecs) ?

what are you feel about minimig ? is it good replacement for my Amiga, or should I give up with that ?

(anyway if someone wants to sell minimig 4mb, send me a PM, if you give me a good price, I will buy it)

It can directly read standard 880 KB ADF files. Extended ADFs are not supported. You can use up to 4 virtual floppy drives.

Yes. [ Show youtube player ]

Yes, as long as it's in RDB format (image of the whole disk). You can make an image of existing Amiga HDD and use it with the Minimig.

I know about 2 games which don't work. It may change in a future. The compatibility is ca 99.9%.

It's very convenient to play games and demos directly from the ADF image files. The rest depends on your expectations.

Thanks, links were very useful to see minimig in action.

But it seems to be I will need some controller for harddrive right ? any idea where can I buy it ?

And about the simulation, are there any slowdowns / or frame drops in games ?

Although some basic support for hard files is possible with the original PIC micro controller and alternative firmware it's impractical with any larger volumes. Booting from a 2 GB hard file takes 4 seconds with an ARM controller and 155 seconds with the PIC. With the ARM you get over 1500 KB/s read speed while with the PIC only 100 KB/s.

Try to get in touch with Faranheit at www.minimig.net forum.

The Minimig is not a simulation. It's a real hardware compatible with Amiga chipset. With the current firmware the slowdowns are practically non-existent.
