Ahaaa! Thanks Akira !
The Amiga logo was a trick to catch the Yellow people. Now I remember who they are. Fol's signature as his master: Quote:
We've got to take care, there are some prophecies about their incoming kingdom (just look at the Bible or maybe it was at the Retrobright thread) Also take care with the yellowing on your miggy: use a cover, retrobright or something. You've been warned, but the most important... Do not vote Yellow !!! Last edited by Retrofan; 14 July 2015 at 03:30. |

Once the moulds are done I guess choosing a new color isnt that expensive but we get pretty far by limiting colors to:
Original, black and transparent (and maybe pure white.) Any idea what extra cost each new color adds? But regarding other colors, maybe the poll should have some other useful colors. Yellow shouldnt necessarily be there at all ;-) Personally I would consider a Titanium grey finish but unless ee have some more colors in the poll, well never know what other weird variations ppl want ;-) |

Project: New (colored) case for A1200
Quote:
Why? Because Im guessing a number of people want an original looking case that will last and unmodified. I don't need a case that is more practical. Its easy enough to modify an existing case, if i got a new one it would be for cosmetic reasons. I personally am not sure if I will buy one of the new cases. If its not 100% original I may as well just stick my amiga in a custom case that i can fit all my modifications in and use a wireless keyboard. Last edited by Vot; 14 July 2015 at 13:15. |

I want to understand exactly what is the point of the poll the team just sent to people registered to the mailing list.
How is our use of the Amiga and any "problems" we might have relevant to making these cases?? Can anyone from the team respond? Because it just looks like pointless data mining to me. |

How the new poll is relevant to making new cases ? Not related at all to "making new housings". What this poll tought us so far: - Most of you need/want a way to renew their keyboards or at least keycaps. - Most of you would be very happy to be able to connect their Amiga to modern monitors/screen, without the hassle of the use of a scan doubler.. - Some of you were really precise about what bothered them the most. This is infos are important for us because it's going to help on our futur choices. The Amiga community is rather small wordwide. Doing/Creating something NOT relevant to the community is pointless and costly. So if this poll hurt you, i'm very sorry about that. We did not intend that. But how to do something for the community without knowing it ? Thanks for all you support guys, you rocks ! Best regards, #AmigaRulez |

My point is: you don't even have cases out yet, but you are data mining people regarding "future projects"???

I see your point Akira, on the other hand there are no any sensitive questions / answers and you can just ignore the poll. I filled it, I have no serious problem with it.

By the way on the subject of branding, well, this is what the original owners of brands and marks are doing with our heritage:

I remember when Player Manager was released on the Amiga. They used real player names without any license from FIFA or the FA... the trick was that they made the names editable and the reasoning was that if they are editable then you could have typed all those real names in yourself anyway... And AFAIK, Anco never got sued by FIFA. ;-) |

I think that a good idea would be having a cutout similiar to the one left in place for the Commodore badge and then supply it with some letter "blocks" of the same size that can be arranged around. So you would end up having two "A" blocks, and one each for "M" "I" "G". It would then be up to the user to re-arrange them to form a word and glue them in place... for example to spell "AMIGA"

Would be much easier to order a complete plate as inlet from one those 3dmaker companies.
But the space is already used for hxc emulator? including pre-cut holes for buttons to the right? Well, well too late now, the horse has bolted. |
