I'm fixing the problems soon: no more click, no more assign in v0.30
Edit: v0.30 tested with DH1 as main volume and it works fine now. Enjoy! If you want to report which games work and don't on the CD32load compat list please do. I have tested a lot of games on CD32, but not from HD. Last edited by jotd; 11 June 2016 at 22:49. |

Things have been a little quiet here lately, I hope everything is going well!
I did some more testing for an upcoming beat-em-up compilation, which includes a bunch of games not previously on the spreadsheet (have been added). Barbarian (Palace): LINE-A Exception Best of the Best: Like Panzer the loading times are long. HOWEVER there's no insert disk b error, seems to be perfectly playable. Budokan: Double Dragon 1: Loads game, crashes when attempting to load level 1 Doman: Seems OK, very slow loader. Random note - the memory screen seems to think there's half a meg of fast ram installed. Dynamite Dux: Franko, the crazy Revenge: |

Hi,
Everything is well, just taking a break of CD32 stuff, focusing on fixing whdload slave issues when I have time. My CD32 seems to have problems, rebooting in the middle of a Rodland game, refusing to load even the CD menu. Is there a good address near France where I could send it to for laser/recap repair? The slow loading is often seen on kickemu installs, which use a lot of small files. Double Dragon 1: sucks AFAIR. Not a great loss Shadow Fighter AGA: not sure if my machine has a problem, or is it unplayable on real HW... My CD32 is not reliable enough for me to test: if it works, then OK, if it doesn't I won't be certain that the problem is not my machine. |

Haha true, I still think it's essential for a pack that includes Double Dragon 2/3, but it works OK with WHDLoad. I actually had a lot of fun playing with it a mate a few years ago, we recognised that the quality wasn't fantastic but it was still a fun bash for a couple of hours. Edit: I hope Michael Gibs finishes his remake one day. I'll do some investigation when I get around to it, I think we can fall back on native HD installed version if need be, it just means we'll lose pause functions etc I think (I never actually checked to see if the AGA version supports the CD32 pad like the native CD32 version does). Im pretty sure DD 1 has a Jst install - dont know if any help.
DD2 is not a bad game and would have been perfect game engine for DD1. |

@JOTD, if there's any chance you can spare a moment to investigate Barbarian (Palace) to see if it's possible to make it work with CD32Load, it would be hugely appreciated. It's not playable without keyboard as you need F1 and F2 to select P1/P2.

@earok yes I just checked and it crashes, but it also uses PatchSeg so that's kind of normal, and I wanted to properly implement PatchSeg so that will be a good opportunity to do it.

I figure there's almost no chance of this but I'll ask anyway.
Super Street Fighter 2 New Challengers - it's difficult to get running on CD32 as it is (using the HD flag, eg "ssf2.exe HD") as you need to tweak the ISOCD settings to maximise available RAM. Is there any chance the slave for this can be run through CD32Load? |

Hi jotd! I know you took a break from this project so I didn't want to bother you but it's been a while so are you coming back to this? What I'm hoping for the most is CDDA play implementation.

Hey jotd, really hoping you will work more on your fantastic CD32Load, now that I have a new laser, I've been testing games again.
Would love CDDA implementation too! |

Since I recently acquired a SX32, I though, let's move all these cool (CD32Load based) compilations to a CF.
First I'm trying to set this up in WinUAE (both in 3.3 stable & 3.4 latest beta). I tried a System: volume just as a PC folder, then I tried a DH1: as HDF (in fileformat as said in readme). But all my attempts to running games fail I'm using the footballfever compilation as a start. Running the games from shell with cd32load v 0.27 (with IDEHD DISKUNIT=1 arguments) result in rainbow screen for all slaves on the compilation Running the games from shell with cd32load v 0.30 (with or without IDEHD DISKUNIT=1 arguments) result in grey screen for all slaves on the compilation I tried both from a startup sequence from a WB3.1 vanilla install (only with more recent setpatch) and a boot without startup-sequence. No difference. WinUAE is configured as close as possible to a real CD32, except for an additional 8MB of FastRAM (SX32) and the HDDs. Any help is very much appreciated, I think I'm overseeing something stupid. |

I think it wont work from CF. You'd need a real HDD.

I cant explain technically but jotd wrote cd32load needs OFS/FFS internal IDE controller and that it's not working on SFS, CF and SCSI.
