I don't remember any Obitus version by Galahad. The Razor 1911/Classic crack works fine.

I've never done anything on Obitus, no crack or HD version, would be happy to do it, but as Stingray said, the original Razor/Classic NTSC crack was 100%, I certainly don't remember anyone complaining about it at the time.

Ok LOOOL i must have dreamt, i will transfert the Razor/Classic yipie Thanks a lot!

But just have a quick look on that page :
http://obligement.free.fr/articles/p..._sur_amiga.php

In the pararaph "3.6.3 MFM custom", one can be read :
"A ce jour, Obitus n'a jamais été craqué correctement, la version craquée a été bâclé."

The date of the article is 2007. So what is your opinion about that ?

Maybe you need to translate the sentence for our friends who don't speak French:

"Until now, Obitus has never been correctly cracked. The [existing] cracked version was a sloppy job."

And my opinion about that sentence is that it should be corrected:
"a été bâclée"

Yes Obitus crack is a mess and quick'n'fast crack. Just the way disks are handled is a repulsive thing for the player.

Even if the game use big longtracks, good cracking means same behaviour as the original. Here it's not.

EDIT : Original protected version zoned XD

The disk 1 reboots after a few seconds during the 3d intro with gfx corrupted, same thing in winuae. The game seems ok, problem only during the attract screen. Any idea?

Unless I have comprehensive PROOF that Obitus is in any way not cracked properly, I won't be touching it.

Ringo Star was a very good cracker, and i'd be hard pushed to accept anything he's done with "quick and dirty crack".

Quick'n'dirty means for me that back in the day when a game was cracked, the faster the better. The disk order is messy and as vollldo said, it has gfx removed and gfx corruption

I need that no cracker still here doesn't want to reinvent the wheel, that's very comprehensible.....

I was talking with WayneK lately, and he was stating 'i don't know which game to choose to compress on 1 disk'. Almost every game has been cracked.

The only difference is that today better and cleaner cracks can be done ; Mainly because there is no timeline to respect. Most amiga secrets are uncovered, etc etc.

I'm sure you'd agree Galahad on these

What GFX is removed and what GFX is corrupted? Is this specifically to do with this crack or is it because the downloaded version has been corrupted?

If you read the scroller for Ringo's version of Obitus, you'll see that they spent a long time on it (presumably because of the type of game it is), testing it to the end... so it really doesn't surprise me that the crack works 100%. I said something similar to Galahad when DLFR asked me to take a look - if Ringo cracked it and released it confident that he'd tested it to the end and it was 100%... that's good enough for me

Since we're talking about Classic version of Obitus, there's a caveat when using the AFL trainer... If you take too long to play at some point you will die instantaneously. I think there's a weight variable that is causes this event and the trainer doesn't know about it.

Hey my friends, i never said that the game wasn't perfect at 100%
Of course i hope it is and of course i didn't go further to check this.
No, the only problem i noticed is only on the intro, the first disk so.
I explain again :
After the intro animation (birds flying, a pink storm), u have to keep in the drive the first disk to look the tunnel animation and hear the main music. It is here where a guru happens, after a few seconds only, and it is here too where the gfx are corrupted.
I didn't notice a corruption in the game itself, all seems to be perfect.
I have exactly the same corruption and guru on WinUAE and my real A500.
The ADF are those on the eab forum.
Did someone test the tunel animation while playing the music without a crash ?

IIRC, you have to swap disks before the birds fly. Like I wrote, I checked everything and it worked 100%.

Ooooh MANY thanks demonic, i was using the wrong disk : u have to insert the disk named "intro disk". I didn't find my mistake cause when u're inserting the disk 2, the tunnel animation and the music start and therefore i was thinking was it was the right disk.
I didn't see that there was a fourth disk called "intro disk". Many thanks, all is perfect in WinUAE so all will surely be on y A500
