a500 to Apple RGB monitor - possible?

I know I'd have to make a custom cable, but if I did would it be possible to use an Apple RGB monitor with an a500 (and by proxy, a 1040STf... hush, I'm using maxYMiser :P )

I have a possible cheapo deal on an apple rgb monitor, but knowing this would work would be crucial. SC1224 and 1084's are hard to find in my neck of the woods.

Crap - although a IIgs monitor looks like it'd do the trick, what I found is not a IIgs monitor.

Thought I found a plan, good to know though!

Funny, I was just about to ask the same thing myself. I do have a IIGS monitor, and the pinouts for both the Amiga and the IIGS are easy to find, but the one thing I note is that the Amiga outputs both a composite sync signal and separate horizontal/vertical sync signals, while the IIGS only outputs composite sync. I assume the separate sync lines on the Amiga are just for high-quality monitors, so would this work? Has anybody tried anything like this before?

CSync will work with a monitor who accept composite sync only.

The only problem that can arise is when the monitor don't accept the Amiga horizontal 15kHz frequency or the 50/60Hz refresh rate.

Well, since the IIGS's native resolution is the same as the Amiga's, I'm going to guess the monitor will handle it all right. I'll hack up a cable and give it a try as soon as my 600 arrives in the mail.
