Looking desperately for Turbo Plus extension for Amos Pro

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a new game demo using Amos and am having no luck at all finding TurboPlus for AmosPro.

Does anyone have this or a working link or contact info for who to get it from?

Thanks very much.

-Mike

I believe fellow EAB member Lonewolf10 (AMOS Extensions Developer) hosts many AMOS Pro extensions on his website. But, here's a post from Lonewolf10 that points you in the right direction to where I believe the Turbo Plus extensions is. Hope that helps!

Do you have to be logged in to see it? I can't find it on that page unless it's packaged in with the pspuae sources?

Most likely yes. Maybe that's why I didn't find it the first time too.. when logged in, there' an Amos section, and a sub folder called Amos extensions.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi again everyone,

As mentioned in this thread, I found the extension. I installed it and it works great. VERY Fast blitting and screen scrolling are possible with this. I'm going through the manual and learning the new commands etc...

BUT now there's a new problem. In the documentation it says the following:
"SCENES

Scene commands are used to display arrangements of icons.
The following commands will allow you to manipulate scenes on screen quickly
and easily.
Scenes are synonymous with Maps in any other extension such as TOME.
See the TURBO Scene Editor documentation for more details on the creation and
theory of icon based Scenes.
"
I Can not find any other document and can not find the Turbo scene editor itself. So, apparently Turbo Plus has some great tile map support, but I cant find it! Am I misunderstanding this?

Thanks

As far as I can see, this link only has the old obsolete version, which I think is also not "licensed" The one I linked to in AMOS factory is definitely the one to go with. If he can't find it after logging in, I'll host it myself.

Cheers,
Mike

Got it, thanks - needed to be logged in. <sigh> yet another useless password saved for a site I'm only going to use once...

I recommend you rethink that. I'm a member of Amos Factory. I and the people there are very helpful. And we're spear-heading several projects which will make Classic Amiga Game development far easier, more organized, and more accessible than ever before... including the creation of a full HD image for use in emulators which will include a suite of all the best authoring tools revolving around and including Amos Pro, with all its best plug-ins such as TurboPlus. All pre-installed and ready to go.

I'm working on new demo's and eventually tutorials to go with this full development set-up.. and will evolve these demos into a full game over time.

We're also starting Bounties on example code and new tools to allow for the rapid creation of far superior games than was previously possible with any variant of Amos.

Cheers,
Mike

Oh, it's doing quite well and has attracted the attention of Clive Sinclair's chums so I'm chuffed to bits - it's based somewhat on AMOS/Blitz (on top of the foundation of Sinclair BASIC) and inherits quite a lot of AMOS's methodology - things like sprites and bobs and memory banks are all taken directly from AMOS.

The interpreter is called SpecBAS, it's only for PC (and some ARM devices) and is available here:

https://sites.google.com/site/pauldunn/

Development is stalled at present as I'm working my a*se off on another (paid!) project, but SpecBAS has been in development for a long time and will be for many years to come... It's almost constantly being optimised and re-worked for better performance.

I also have a Youtube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/user/ZXSpin/videos

And I also plan to port to AROS when I get a working version installed!
