SX32 MK1 manual?

I am after the manual for the SX32 (non pro) mk1.

Anyone got one? A scan/pdf would do.

Preferably in English.

If anyone has a SX32 (non pro) and knows what type of 72-pin SIMMS it likes, please let me know.

I think that you have to use SIMMS with less than four chips for it to work in SX32 MK1 but I am not 100% sure.

A scan of any language would be great.

Apparently, SX32 MKII is just an updated version with a smaller PCB on it

So double sided SIMMS could work too on it

SX32 MKII has a better RAM controller less sensitive to SIMM type (at least that is what it says on several websites)

How do you select between CD32 mode and hard drive mode?

If there is a CD in the drive will it just work as a CD32?

Do you need to use a mouse and disable the hard drive or something?

I don't want to have to keep pluggin, unpluggin the SX32.

You have to choose the boot priority of each drive
At startup, hold down the two mouse button and a new menu appears
Set the DH0 priority to 0 to allow direct boot from CD32 bootable discs if one is inserted at startup, if noone is inserted, DH0 boots normally

And for your memory details, perhaps there is an answer here :

Nope the answer is not there.

But on the SX32 box there is a picture of a SIMM with only 2 chips.

Why you just don't test some different SIMMS ??
Don't you have one to test???

I have boxes of hundreds of them.

I just read that the point of failure on an SX32 is the sockets on the back plane that connect to the CD32 edge connector.

I dont want to be pulling it out, pushing it in too much.

BTW: Does the SX32 go in the top or bottom connector? I am sure it would be obvious when I try it but nice to know.

The SX32 card goes in the top connector
You can't plug it in the bottom connector

You're right for the failure of an SX32, the sockets on the back plane are not really good.
But i've plug my SX32 about 200 times when i was testing it and there is no problem with it
If it doesn't boot or a failure message appears, just unplug & replug it and it does the trick!
I think the sockets are a bit too large for the PCB and some times the contact is not really good because the pins are not connected

There ar no other chips on the other side of the simm if that is what you mean ?

Haven't used my CD32 for a while,so unsure of size of memory ?

By the way........Just sent you 6 scanned pages of the manual in German to your email address !

Took about 5 minutes to send though !
