Raptor: Call of the Shadows

It seems that an adaptation of this game was planned for Amiga:
Quote:
A NEW APOGEE AMIGA GAME RELEASE "RAPTOR: CALL OF THE SHADOWS"
Copyright (c) 1994/95 Apogee Software, Cygnus Studios

Full 256-color AGA graphics explode onto the screen with an opening cinematic
that'll wake up your neighbors. You can pick to play one of four mercenary
pilots, two males and two females, representing different backgrounds. Enter
the weapons store with your hard earned cash and equip you futuristic fighter
with the hottest weapons technology the future has to offer - over 11 to
choose from!

Discover secrets, find the bonuses, and battle the boss ships that appear at
the end of EVERY WAVE! With each ship and ground target you destroy, you'll
earn more cash to increase your ship's technology for the next wave. You'll
be driven to kill and destroy - but then, it's in your blood anyway.

The Raptor - a bird of prey - is an awesome warship. And you've been chosen
to pilot it into enemy territory to kill or be killed. Incredibly smooth
AGA graphics and animation are only half the story. The mood-setting, heart-
pounding music in Raptor will leave you breathless,

The screen shots viewed with this preview don't show you all the action,
nor can you have any idea about the addictiveness of this game. The screen
shots are only a teaser, so you'll need to go get the game and experience
the ultimate in action game for the Amiga.

Raptor, coming in 1995. It ain't no dinosaur game...

I have the Linux Version of this game... always thought that it could have been easily ported to Amiga but unfortunately I never heard about that before now...

This reminds me another Apogee game that I always dreamed for Amiga... Death Rally...

I'm sure Amiga could be capable to play this game.

I've been tempted often to try making a SEUCK version of Raptor. I have a feeling the slideshow is fake though.

PC version was damn impressive, a ton of sprites on screen with transparency effects on my 120 Mhz pentium with a fast gfx card. Not sure a standard A1200 would have played it with a such number of sprites without any slodowns.

Perhaps a group can whip up an unofficial version of the game, like they did with Where Time Stool Still.

That would require a complete rewrite of the game. An absolutely huge job compared to porting a game over from the ST.

If it was written in C with critical routines in assembler, it is not a big problem. No?

We need two groups first one to port game to Atari ST and than second one to port from Atari to Amiga.

Pentium 120? I played that game on a 386 DX40 and it didn't slow down.

Perhaps you're thinking about a different game such as Tyrian 2000, that game indeed required pentium-level hardware.

OK, I know this is an all Amiga board, but here's an idea. There is a version of DosBox available for the Dreamcast.

http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/...lators/dosbox/

Would it be possible to produce a bootable version?

It's OT,in the wrong section of the board and not even Amiga related but you could try FastBoot or the Utopia bootdisc. It's been a while so don't ask for further details.

BTW the iso zone?
There are safer ways do downlod stuff.
