Question Jurassic Park pass codes do not work

Everywhere on the Net (also in HOL) I can find pass codes for the Amiga ECS/OCS version of Jurassic Park. The thing is, I have JP cracked by Paradox and in this version none of the pass codes work.

Are the pass codes wrong or do I possess a crack of some kind of beta-version?
Once again thanks in advance.

Well, You can always try WDHLoad version (installs from original disks). If this doesn't help maybe is indeed beta version or simply codes are bad.

Welcome aboard. This puzzled me for ages, actually, I think I have discussed it here before and I have been told to just try the AGA version. Case of a shoddy crack, methinks. It pissed me off always because the game aint no easy at all...

Definately try another version. One of the versions out there has had the password thing broken, not much to do about it.

I can't remember if it's the AGA or the ECS version which has problems, but go with the other one than the one you tried. I do believe that works in regard to the passwords. But I seem to recall some problem with using the consoles here and there in the park in the version I got, not sure if that was an emu problem though as I never got it put on my miggy to play.

Eek Found something...

Pass codes did also not work in the Crystal-crack on my real Miggy when I checked it a couple of years ago.

I just searched a bit, and found this interesting quote by a Mr. E of Quartex here:
Quote:
There is a hell of a lot of protection in the game and I'd be very surprised if anybody cracked it 100%.. The passwords are linked to the protection as well. Thats why a lot of them don't work.If I remember correctly it gives out random passwords on cracked versions. Also the raptors being harder to kill is due to a bad crack.. The game screws up subtly in many ways if it detects its a cracked version... And being a cracker myself I knew plenty of tricks for implementing the protection

You are absolutely right. When typing in my last message, some colleagues here at my work were really annoying me with their idiot tidbits. Anyway, I referred to the Paradox crack and the quote was by a member of Crystal indeed.

Good idea - I'll save that to for next Monday morning.
Now I'll enjoy the weekend, playing Jurassic Park without cheatcodes all day.
