But why would you? It's extremely unlikely that it will come close to a PCI card performance-wise.

Well, he asked if it would work with a Mediator card or would he have to go back to stock. And I was just saying, sure it'll work, not giving estimates one way or the other what would be better. I mean it *might* not work since you know some Zorro cards don't like Mediators, but there's no reason to assume based on what we know that it wouldn't work.

I mean sure Voodoo cards are getting expensive, but probably not as expensive as this. But it has the potential to be fast, just really no way of knowing yet.

Judging by its predecessor, it's not in the vicinity of a Voodoo.

Yeah, I mean that's why I was curious whether it supported Zorro 3 speeds. For some people a 2d card which had a fast Zorro interface might be more useful than a Voodoo, which has rather slow Zorro 3 interface via Mediator.

All the extra stuff mentioned like accelerated JPEG/PNG decoding might be useful to someone. Just the sheer frankensteined nature of it is intriguing, to me at least. We could even fantasize that it could support Zorro 3 DMA too and be the only Z3 RTG card which does so, not that I'm expecting it or that it is even likely. If it does even 1/4 of the stuff that it is capable of I'd want one. Got to fill up those Zorro slots on the Mediator.

So how will the AGA scandoubler work on the MNT ZZ9000? I only see a Zorro connector, no video card connector. Do we have to feed the AGA signal differently into the card?

Like the Picasso IV and the Cybervision64 before it the MNT ZZ9000 contains a separate video slot board connected to the gfx card via a ribbon cable.

https://shop.mntmn.com/products/va2000cx

It has been designed this way (like its predecessors) so that it works with an A2000 where the Zorro slot and the Video slot are not inline.

I would have liked the "snappable" integrated PCB feature the PIV has but it probably wasn't practical.

I still wonder if it will be running Linux, and hence be useful for more creative stuff too.
