No problemo.
If anyone should happen to have "fresh" dumps of Clockwiser (CD32), Land of Genesis (Amiga CD), T-Zero (Amiga CD), please let me know. Chances are I might be able to re-create the missing bits and bolts for these games. By "fresh" I mean not TOSEC ISO or any of the widely available images floating the web. |

I've not seen any registered user logging on to just "grandis.nu" for a while. Could someone verify that FTP to grandis.nu port 21 works with your account? The anonymous account have no access to it.
Thanks! |

When I try to connect to 'grandis.nu' (without the 'ftp.') using my account I get this:

The download limit using HTTP ( for example https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP ) have been changed from 30GiB / 500Files to 100GiB / 500Files.
Now you can grab the archived TOSEC files in Tempfolder thats over 30 GiB without getting instabanned. Reminder that the HTTP download is only meant for smaller downloads though.. use FTP instead of you want to download more than a few files here and there. If you were recently banned from going over the limit, it should release within 24 hours automatically instead of the 7 days it normally takes. |

What do I set Filezilla to so it deals with all the Polish special characters? e.g. /~Uploads/rygar/Greaseweazle & KryoFlux/rygar/Raj Krzy¿ówkowicza v2.05 (1995) (Biuro Informatyczno-Wydawnicze) just gives a 'Failed to retrieve directory listing'?
Have set Charset > Autodetect and Charset > Force UTF-8 for the site but still the same error!! |

While I do not use filezilla normally, I gave it a test. No problem downloading it here.. I've not made any changes except change to 1 simultaneous connection..
Edit: Actually, if I change from "Autodetect" to "Force UTF-8", I get the same error. "Failed to retrieve directory listing". Leaving it on Autodetect and it works. Edit2: Reading rygars post, setting it to "Use custom charset" and typing ANSI also makes it work. |

When I download files from ftp via Total Commander, something always freezes or the download stops. What needs to be set to make it work?

Here's a thread about the problem where the author of TC explains why it happens: https://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=26784
Sounds a bit like you should consider using a different program. |

But these are not large files, because these are Commodore 64 games, so the size of each file is very small. But there are a very large number of them.

This is NOT a sponsored post !
I use Xshell for SSH connections usually. I just got a mail about version 8 Beta of xShell, Xmanager and Xftp. Now, Xftp looks like a nice FTP client and since its free to download the 8 Beta versions, I thought I'd paste a link if anyone wants to try it. https://sendy.netsarang.com/sendy/l/...763zwcRtlWKUEg Again, not sponsored. Edit: Tested it.. a bit to basic. Might just stick to Filezilla or whatever you use today.. I see no easy way to even enable Auth SSL.. I'll leave this post here anyway. Figured I would write a guide for people not experienced with FTP and link it to the main post. While the Filezilla FTP client is a popular choice, I do not like it. It just feel... icky and off.
Personally, I use FlashFXP, but it has not been updated since 2016 because the creator is in prison etc... whole other story. So what would I recommend? WinSCP ! Its free and easy to use. Just google WinSCP or go to https://winscp.net to download it. Here are some tips on how to install and use it. If you know how FTP sites work, you probably wont need this. During setup, these are the choices I selected: https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/install1.jpg You can select one of two ways to present the GUI. Either with a split screen (Commander) or as a normal Explorer window. I am old school and use Commander mode. https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/install2.jpg After setup, if you have Filezilla installed, it will ask if you want to import your sites from there. Up to you. You can also do this later in the options if you want. A login box will pop up. To connect to the TURRAN FTP, see the first post in this thread for which host, username and password to use. As of the time of writing, the screenshot information is correct, using any password. I will not go to deep into what the user "ftp" can an can not do here. See first post again. Please note that you can use Encryption "TLS/SSL Explicit encryption" if you like. Selecting "No encryption" also works. Does not make much of a difference on this, perfectly legal FTP site... https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/setupsite.jpg Please, also click the Advanced button and under "Connection", set Keepalives to Off. It saves some resources on the FTP server and having keepalive on for the anonymous "ftp" account might cause a short temporary ban. https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/disablekeepalive.jpg The first time you connect, if you are using TLS/SSL Explicit encryption, it will complain about the certificate. This is OK. Just click Yes to connect anyway. https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/acceptcert.jpg To disconnect and connect, you can just close the "tab" or clicking "New Tab". https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/connect.jpg Once connected, this is what it should look like. You local computer to the left and the FTP to the right. Just drag and drop to download files or entire folders. https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/gui.jpg Hint for registered users (does not work for the anonymous "ftp" user). Since you have two logins, you can download things in the background and continue browsing the FTP. Just right click the file or folder, Download and "Download in Background". https://grandis.nu/images/winscp/registereduser.jpg Last edited by Turran; 30 April 2024 at 09:24. |

Hi, I am also getting this 530 Login incorrect error... tried a bunch of MacOs clients, and even when trying to connect to the user info page via a browser (eg: change password), it fails. The only thing that works - same credentials - is the integrated Finder FTP client, but only on the ftp2.grandis.nu address. Strangely, the same credentials do not work on ftp.grandis.nu (maybe I had already an account there? ). EDIT2: it seems now it's working. Not sure if I did something or it was fixed remotely... I suspect that Finder messed up with its keychain. Last edited by emiespo; 30 April 2024 at 23:39. |

I did not do anything, but if it was a brand new account, it might have been the sync between the sites.
ftp2.grandis.nu -> ftp.grandis.nu is synced every 10 minutes but ftp2.grandis.nu -> grandis.nu is only synced every few hours. I might have to change that now that I've enabled logins to grandis.nu as well... did not think about that.. |
