USB2.0 PCMCIA Drive solutions on Amiga

Ok, I have an External CD/RW-DVD drive that is connected to my laptop through a USB2.0 PCMCIA card in the PCMCIA port of my laptop.

Is there anyway this system will work on my A12oo?

I'm pretty sure that most of these devices are backwards compatible with USB1.1 so if you have a USB1.1 solution on the Amiga then it should function just fine, at a slower speed of course.

USB

My Amiga doesn't even have USB at all.

What I want to know is is there a software solution that people know about that works for Amiga so that the drive shows up on my system?

Sure, if it´s an IDE Drive just rip it out of the case and attach it to the IDE Port

There is no Software solution for this ... but else you can buy an internal USB device for the A1200 Clockport

Yeah just heard. Subway USB thingy is supposed to be quite good.

Anyone got one for sale or do I have to get it from Germany?

Best option, if you absolutely need it, is the Subway clockport USB adapter:

http://www.e3b.de/usb/index_e.html

AFAIK, there are no UK resellers of this...best option is contact Guenter at KDH:

http://www.kdh-amiga-shop.com/catalo...hp?language=en

(From there, go to Amiga Classic/Hardware/USB/ )

Costs about £60 exc. delivery...

Check the e3b pages...you will not get decent speeds via USB, but if speed is not a problem...
