From your previous posts I think you already found this but:

http://www.Linkedin.com says there is an Andy Catling working as an artist at Climax games in Portsmouth and has a website called http://www.catling-art.com/

And freakishly enough there is an Andrew Catling working as an artist for Code Masters in coventry!

Looking at the history on MobyGames I think they are the same person who forgot their linkedin password but I could be wrong

You can pm via linked in

1998 is this Andy Catlings first game on MobyGames... 1992 is only 6 years earlier... (although he is credited on Drop Ship which was 1990)

Perhaps writing games for Archimedes platform was considered embarassing.

Let me know how you get on with this guy?

Anyway, I sent a mail to that guy now asking if he had any information.

Also, I got a reply from that forum member - he told me he did not have the full version but a version with a few levels. The demo version we have only have one level, I hope this isn't the one he has. If he has bigger version, that would be great anyway. He told me he'd dump it for me and upload it but he hasn't replied since.. but it wasn't that long ago, so I'm hoping he'll reply sometime today.

He looked in his late 40's in 1990 which is 18 years ago. Video games cannot have been that lucrative for him if he's still working and not retired

It's fantastic that it is obviously their hobby, I doubt they make any money from the Acorn side of things, and that they can continue to sell/support their games! It is just a shame that they don't have a nostalgia section dedicated on their website.

If they licensed Acorn BBC / RiscOS ROM's I am sure they could put together a collection similar to AmigaForever and bundle in their games or perhaps support Virtual RPC?

Shame their PC games are so outrageously priced. $25? They should switch to a free flash-based advert funded business model. Or perhaps even move to WiiWare and XNA on the Xbox360.

Hmmm.. it seems there are only 8 bit BBC games on the site and it hasn't been updated in a while but you never know.. I sent him a mail asking if he knows anything about the game.

If this game really was published... where are all the copies? You would expect at least one to be on sale somewhere on the net.

Edit: Where are all the the Archimedes games on Ebay?! Not one (memorable) game on ebay at the moment. Are we to believe that Archimedes owners never sell their collections?

I do not remember them being that rare, almost every third or four computer at the computer club when I was a kid was an Archimedes (although Amiga and ST was most prevalent)

But games like Elite, Zarch, Repton etc. should have sold in greater numbers so I would have expected one or two of these... very strange.

They don't accept credits unless they are from the manual or in-game. Which is a total pain because for a time at Psygnosis, company policy was such that nobody was credited. So my credit list will never be complete on there.

Apparently OmniFlop can be used on Windows to image Archimedes disks (amongst others).

Yes and it's pretty good too, Use it regularly it has wide compatibility with std PC Floppy drives.
