Where is my file saving too? Need to back it up
Hi there,
I am using Miracle piano teaching system to sharpen up my piano skills again. I have created in win uae an A1200 emulation with a hardrive. I have installed Miracle to the hard drive and never have to save or load as it just remembers where Im up too. This tells me it is saving somewhere but I dont know where. I want to back up my progress as there a literally hundreds of lessons and I can do without starting again due to a hard rive prob or even a windows prob that buggers my UAE up. Any help appreciated as always. |

There must be a file on your harddrive. Look for a file that has the timestamp of today inside the Miracle folder. You do that by opening the folder, choose to see all files and sort them by date

Hi Druid.
I already tried that. When I open the Miracle folder it only has two other icons in it. A one called Miracle that launches the program when clicked or a preferences box that launches some sort of printer wizard. Cant see any other file or even icon in the folder. |

Sorry, I was a bit unclear (again ). When the folder is open hold down your right mouse button and select 'Window' from the menu at the top of the screen. Then go to 'Show contents' and select 'All files' (might read a bit different since I use the german translation here). After that go again to the 'Window' menu, go to 'List contents' and select 'By date'. This way you should see all files and more infos about the files.

Of course you can back up the whole WinUAE virtual hard drive, but this will be a waste if all that's needed is to back up the user.dat file. Try moving the user.dat file out of your Miracle folder, say to the RamDisk, and then restart the application. If your progress is lost by doing this, then shut down the application and restore the user.dat file. Then just make a copy of this file somewhere safe. |

Of course, there's no reason you shouldn't back up this file to an ADF if you choose. |

You can make a floppy in WinUAE pretty easy. Have a look :
You could also make a virtual harddrive with a Windows folder. This way you have the file accessible in Windows afterwards (when you copy it to the harddrive) and save the overhead caused by the ADF image |

I have a question, TCD.
How do you get those red ellipses on your screenshots? I've seen them a lot on these threads. I just wondered, is there an easy way to do it? |

Quick tut : Choose the line tool and select the second thickness. Then choose the circle tool, change the foreground color to red and there you go It takes a bit of 'training' to choose the right starting point for the circle Edit : Guess it's not 'circle tool', but 'ellipse tool' |
