I signed up late last year, I believe, when it was announced for the 500 version.
They are doing mass production now so it should all be in short order (my opinion).
Today I have been notified it has shipped.

Final price was 322 euros plus shipping.

Total price 366 EUR for Czech, but its nice HW and it will bring us new features and new software for Classic Amigas. Promissing future for 68k Amiga scene.

I'd love to see updated Art, 3D animation and video editing programs.

3D lags behind on the Vampire due to the lack of an FPU unless you find a software renderer like Doom.

Memory is a bit foggy but I used Imagine by Impulse on my Amiga back in the day. I don't recall what accelerator w/fpu I purchased at the the time ('030) but prior to my purchase I believe there was a non fpu version (68k version) of Imagine. I'm guessing the non fpu version would probably run fairly well on the vampire. Updating that to take more direct advantage of it would be even better.

Simo made a video with a test;

Quote:
Apollo1260@80MHz:
Integer: 4m17s "NOFPU"
FPU: 4m21s "FPU Version & Phase 5 060 boards"
FPU2: 4m28s "Other 060 boards (Apollo, Draco)"
--
68080: 2m13s "NOFPU"

Cinema4D can be found from CU Amiga Magazine's Super CD ROM 27 and this default scene is easy to reproduce.
And I guess there are no Vampire spesific versions of Cinema4d, so Im ASSUMING there are quite a bit of performance potential.

What is happening with these now? I can see Majsta selling the on eBay and they are fetching up to and over £300... I registered my interest for one of these back in Early January and I have seen no change in when I will be able to buy one.

You'll need to eyeball your email and spam folders for the request for payment once a board had been allocated to you. I heard there are delays due to higher than expected demand.

As a base line. I expressed interest in December of 2016, paid with request at the end of March. At this time it looks like my board will ship sometime in July maybe. Rumor has it U.S. Customs may delay delivery up to a month.

Registration of interest in the Vampire 500V2(+) opened in early December. Within the first week the number of people interested a Vampire 2 rose by over 600 so if you didn't order until early January there were probably already a lot of people ahead of you in the queue by then. Registrations have slowed down now to just a few a day and hundreds have been delivered so the back log will be dealt with over the coming months.

The E-bay sales serve a dual purpose, to reduce temptation for third parties to take advantage of the restricted supply by selling their Vampire at a very high price and to raise funds both to offset the losses incurred during the development and delivery of the first Vampire 600V2 boards and help towards development of new hardware.
