Moviesetter alternative?
Does anyone know an Amiga program besides Moviesetter that can
do sync sound with the .anim format? I'd like to try animating on the Amiga again, possibly making a short cartoon, but the sync sound thing has always been a bit of an issue. Cheers |

with Mainactor you can add sound to an existing anim file.
Disney Animation Studio has build in sound support - once loaded look for Pencil Test in the menus and select Exposure Sheet - here you can add sound or music scores ( i think sonix format) - somehow. there is another more modern application called Wavetracer DS - this can produce IFF-SoundANIM. (download section). never really tested, but take alook yourself. Last edited by emufan; 29 August 2016 at 23:49. |

Thanks for this! I'm just awaiting an accelerator from Amigakit, and an Indivision for my 1200, after the horrible death of my 4000 to get back into animating on the Amiga again. (Did six animations for Sesame Street on the Amiga in DeluxePaint V and Brilliance back in the day.)
Is there a bit of a scene for people making art on the Amiga? I'd like to jump into that with both feet again. This is some great info, I remember MainActor and Scala, I could never acquire them back in the day, but it all looks like abandonware at this point. Much easier to find. Cheers |

there is another user which made some sesame street anims back in the days, but i forgot his nick here, or is it u with new nick?
i think there is no graphics amiga scene, beside the demo scene, pouet.net for example is a good source. here aboard sometimes graphics are needed for game projects. but you can just open a thread with your artwork and see what happens, like I tried with some example renderings on my Lightwave Plugins thread for those old software you can look at the ftp, as were the links above i posted. use the search function. |

Ah, no! Mine are here: www.cartoonmonkey.com
They were supposed to be in the style of Mattise cutouts, except for "Over-Under" which was done on paper, then scanned using a black and white security camera and the Rombo Vidi-RT that I still own. (Colored and composed in DeluxePaint / Brilliance) Good to know there were others out there using the tech for the same show! I had no idea. |

There is AnimatED that allows to create projects that plays a sequence of ANIM and IFF files at same time with 8SVX sound samples everything with precise timing. I like to see this program as a poor man's non-linear video editor.
