Using 8Mb chip? easy!
Set it on UAE BTW: I hate visage, for no reason at all. Just don't like it. |

@RedskullDC
Now that is really interesting. With 8 GB RAM and a 64 bit OS I thought it would be no problem to set so much mem inside WinUAE. But since you got over 1 GB I guess it has to do with the Windows memory management. Is it approximately the same amount of RAM when you try it for a second time? Btw : Nice system you got there |

WinUAE is 32-bit program and 32-bit programs can't reserve more than about 2G contiguous RAM (JIT needs all memory in huge contiguous chunk) btw, you asked more than 1.5G because total amount required is 256M (UAE Z3 starts at 0x10000000) +1.5G+<size of RTG RAM>. |

Hi Toni and CyberDruid,

Just an interesting exercise, can't imagine ever needing more than 256MB on the Amiga side. If I increase/decrease the amount of RTG ram allocated, it alters the amount of Z3 ram that is possible. The maximum possible Z3 size I could obtain was 1280MB when RTG ram was set to 32MB. Thanks for your continuing efforts with WinUAE incidentally! Cheers, Red |

Hi Cosmicfrog,

Some of the tools we use come in 64bit versions, and chew up memory/processor cores at an alarming rate! Also need to use VMWare Workstation frequently, to test our software on a variety of targets. Cheers, Red |
