Hey we got responses for Putty squad as well, but that didn't mean we got it anyway. Could be just the same for Snow bros. I honestly didn't think they were even converting it at all in the beginning.

There's a shocker-fantastic job RCK!! Well, fingers crossed he can find the old disk,& that it still works. Does make you wonder though,if it was actually finished, why the heck did Ocean never released it?! It's not like they didn't release some utter crap like T2,so why hold out what was hopefully something as playable as that? Typical publishers! |

Well, lots of finished games never got published because even after development, a game has to be packaged and promoted. This is expensive and if a publisher thinks they won't get their money back, they cut their losses.
Cheers, RCK! Been holding my breath for this game for so long...I really hope this materializes! |

Is there an old EAB thread that contains this attempt at System 3s lamented unreleased classic? Or can anyone resupply said information here?

Actually - if there is copy protection on the finished game - it should be on the master disk too. This is why it is called a "master" disk - because it is just that. The master copy - where the rest come from.
Trace machines in particular read the "master disk" on initialisation (also using a description file written in the "Freeform" disk format description language) to build up the internal "image" or represenation of the disk. This is then spat out at the floppy drives, written as per the instructions in the disk description file. </useless info> However, I guess the disk may not be the "final" "gold" master, but if the game was written with copy protection in mind from the start (as they should, but most didn't I guess) - all master disks should have it. But either way - I guess both parties will get the job done, just one quicker than the other obviously (codetapper) . Later in the game (when some releases are out) releasing an image of a disk with a known disk format (95% are known now of 1000's of disks) takes 2 clicks of the mouse... (apart from testing obviously, but that is only a final check - just in case) But even if no copy protection - if you want low-level verification that the disk is okay and has not got corrupted after all these years, then we still have a use! Funny, you are already discussing the games protection although it is not yet available
Before I forget it: There was another unpublished Ocean France game called Liquid Kid. It is probably also from Adane. So, RCK, if you get in a talk with Pierre you should please ask him also regarding this title and the existance of other unreleased games. It would also be useful to get information of Pierre-Eric Loriauxs music format and packer who composed the music for both games. This is a request by Don Adan (author of lots of Eagle Players replayers). You all should not forget that it was him who provided the essential information regarding Pierre Adane and his current company!! I just forwarded it and posted it here. Quote:
maybe even the arcade version. If you play that arcade version you can easily get an impression of that title (maybe Mame). There are not any known screenshots of the Teddy and Liquid games. |
