Jotd, there are many people on EAB that give a lot to this Amiga community; and yes you are included.

Read my comments any way you like; doesn't bother me in the slightest...

I'm sticking up for my friend who finished an awesome game; works perfectly on Classic Amigas and now has to try to bug fix during the "World Cup" period when he said that people need to wait until afterwards; yet...

I'm sticking to him as well. That one fills the gap of pixel perfect arcade conversions for the pre 1986 era, where noone seemed to care about those classics at the time.

I'm also aware that no bugs have a high priority when you do that for a hobby. There are a lot of mantis issues for whdload, which were fixed years later (but fixed). Just reporting the problem.

It's no sweat mate really. This has been always on my terms and I did have a bit time today as the Mrs took the boy out to the beach herself as I haven't been feeling great the last couple of days so needed something to keep my brain occupied.

Patching the game the way I have probably will make it more stable on classic Amigas though, and they are patches - not proper fixes.

While I care dearly about the game, it was important for me to set a development time limit and 6 months of the year was enough for a hobbyist coder like me with a small family so those GFX bugs will have to remain and won't get fixed any time soon (The exception will be if England win the World Cup 2018).

I'll be starting coding again on something new in October, probably the same length of time too (even got permission from the Mrs).

I hope everyone likes and enjoys the game... the feedback has been immense, especially from everyone here at the EAB!

Just to be clear for me: reporting a bug from my point of view is never about "discrediting" the author… mcgeezer did a tremendous work! It's the BEST BombJack port for the Amiga EVER done, and almost identical to original arcade so we can't ask for something better.
Patching a few minor issues and OS unfriendly things then are just the icing on the cake for Workbench lovers like me

I've played on winuae and got a fatal lockup at level 15 (game froze). I have coded a whdload slave specifically for this game (not very difficult, very close to the generic one). Will test further and if I don't get lockups, I'll release it.

I know the original very well, and this one is very close. Easier, but really feels like the arcade.

Cheers buddy - honestly this really has made my day and I thank you and all the others at the EAB for their support!

Making the game was well worth it. Can't wait to make another.
