Cool Final Fantasy VII Open-World Sequel "Time Guardian" (PS1)

I wanted to demonstrate how much power even the original FF7 PS1 engine has. No uber PS4 needed. There is more than enough savemap variables and scripting space for such a complex project.

Why? The whole project won't see the light of day anyway. The dev is no longer working on this. This video is all we get to see.

But if it would be available i would like to try it

I meant specificaly this project. It's just a proof of concept, there is nothing for the lawyers to do as no content is available except the dev's copy.
In the link above the dev said that it's simply too much work. 9 cd's - one for each character. He stopped at the point where it comes to adding content.
But nonetheless a nice idea, though.

I don't know if I need a Final Fantasy 7 game in which you can enter even more buildings and do even more stuff; I've already wasted enough hours of my life on the core game as it was

IMO the game was pretty well balanced in what it allowed you to do and what it blocked you from doing. There is such a thing as too much freedom, then you get sandbox problems of people being lost and not understanding how to have fun.

Respect to this person that he managed to do it of course.

Agreed, there is no point to this. Was the original not long enough? Are there now not enough games with more in-depth story-lines?
