A1200 Floppy drive stopped reading

Hi everyone, i have an A1200 that worked fine until some days ago when i stupidly decided to try to read an old original '90 floppy disk. Now the floppy (Chinon) doesn't read and write any disk. I cleaned the heads with Isopropyl alcohol and compressed air but nothing changed. I have no idea of what i can do to resolve the problem!!! Thanks a lot.

have you tried cleaning the read / wright switch ?
put a couple drops of Isopropyl alcohol on the switch.. press switch up & down a few times.
these switches do stick after a time.

It might be just coincidence that the drive failed at that time.

Have you another Amiga to try the drive on?

Edit: Just a thought, the heads could have been knocked out of alignment.

Unfortunately i have only one Amiga, so i can't test on another one. I don't think it's a coincidence because the '90 floppy was stored in a very humid place and was very noisy on the drive. Maybe the only solution is to buy a new drive.

At the end, to resolve the problem, i found an old Sony MPF 920 z/131 drive on my shelf, i have done the kipper2k modify and now i have a 100% working drive!!!
