plasmab: Gonna make a github bug in a moment with the info I put here. i don't really have anything else to add. Other people's tests would be the best way to debunk what happens on my system (or not)
Yes your right
I just tried alfred chicken from your Uploads and

with Samsung ram -- CF in -no Boot, CF out- No Boot, TF328 out it boots ( same Problem as Akira).

With ISSI Ram -- CF in -BOOT, CF out-- BOOT

What do you think Steve ? Obviously your Spec`d ISSI on the board no problem.
So there is so sort of conflict with the other types of ram.

Weird. In theory these are the same!!

Will test. Annoyingly I sold my Samsung board. But I have a HY board I could play with

Akira, try removing that NMI jumper, I don't think it's necessary. I wonder if anything changes.

The NMI is wired up to two pins on the muxcpld... its pretty harmless.

Nope, that's not my problem at all. I don't need to remove the TF328 at all, just IDE. Take a good read at what I described before and the github bug. Also if you have a Samsung RAM, it's not the same board as mine, so teh test situation has changed.

Weird that Alfred Chicken would not work at all with your board though.
That game runs fine in my system with the TF328 plugged in, as long as it has an IDE device on it. When no IDE, it does boot, just has graphic corruption.

IS it of any use if I do a livestream going through these games with the TF328 with and without IDE?

Steve samsung ram sorted was wrong firmware, I flashed it with firmware : tf328_ram_rev1_14_9_2017, and thats fine CD`s boot with cf installed
So to reiterate Samsung ram is fine

So its just the Hynix

Thanks Akira for noticing that fault and its another test we can do , just got to sort your hynix sorted out now

Am about to burn the chicken..

But as I cannot get Hynix RAM to work at all i'm not confident.

@plasmab any chance you can tell us where the timing value is in the firmware as we the community can offload some of your time on the tf328, if it's something simple like timings.

Thanks
Chris.

Its not a value. Is about moving things from this edge to that edge etc.

You need to sit and stare at timing diagrams unfortunately.

Kipper, can you confirm Akira's issues which occur without IDE connected on hynix ram?

I will give it a shot.. gimme 15 mins.

k, mine boots from CF card...
shut down and restart with CD in and cd32 boots from CD

(CF card still in)

Tried the turrican mix cd and 100game mix CD.
just to confirm, this is hynix hy5118160b

When i lift the CD lid and do a soft reboot, the CF will load once again

Also, when i boot from CF card, put in CD and close the lid the icon for the CD will appear so there is no problem recognising the device
.

The biggest problem i have had bresides bad traces is the connectors seem to be greasy, even the new ones and i need to clean them once i finished with a good little scrubbing

The main reason I always wanted an IDE for the CD32, is because making your own discs for the CD32 is a ROYAL pain in the ass. Nobody has made a PC tool that can build them so you rely on shitty old Amiga dev tools to make discs.

I'm gonna try to look at a tutorial and see if I can build a disc with systest. Where do I get systest from?

[edit] is it Keir's systest? https://github.com/keirf/Amiga-Stuff...master/systest

Akira, SysTest is available here: https://github.com/keirf/Amiga-Stuff...master/systest

I never understood how to make a bootable CD for the CD32, it seems to require some commodore dev tools which don't seem to be readily available...

A systest iso is the only way i can check RAM with a CF card out. Other than DiagROM.
