What PS2 & PS3 games have that retro Amiga feel?
I know about Lemmings and already bought the PS3 version as well as Super Stardust. What other PS2 & PS3 games have that Amiga look and or feel?

Ok, it's far from the amiga technically. However, its gameplay comes close to certain Amiga games (for instance Microcosm, which is a railed shooter as well). The game I'm referring to is Rez. I think it was originally released for the Sega Dreamcast and PS2.
[ Show youtube player ] It's now also for sale on Xbox Live arcade for the 360 (but hey, no one ever plays with those, right?). |

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance on the PS2 (both games, but the first one is better). I remember getting the Amiga feeling right away when I first played the demo (and obviously because of that, I bought the game as soon as it came out).
It's more or less what Alien Breed would be like in a fantasy world with dragons and zombies and skeletal warriors. Uncharted on the PS3 felt like a 3D Flashback, imo, but without the science fiction. If you haven't already played it on the PC, get Diablo on the PSone. It's fantastically good fun with two players, and it reeks of atmosphere - and it also has the kind of difficulty you'd find in an Amiga game. In other words, tough as nails. Me and my brother started a game of it just the other night, and I'm looking forward to the next one. Diablo is what Gauntlet on the PSone would look like. |

I second Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance... at least the first one. I played it through to the end. A worthwhile purchase, but some of the puzzles were a bit infuriating.

I'd go with Gradius V:
Especially in 2-Player mode its fantastic fun and has that distinctive amiga-with-friends-on-couch-sitting-and-taking-turns feel to it. |

For the PS3 the download game Super Stardust HD
Edit: I should have read the whole post of Pyromania... it's late here in Germany But how about Ace Combat? An arcade style combat simulation - like Fighter Bomber Last edited by Birdy; 06 June 2008 at 00:30. |

Maximo vs. Army of Zin, think Ghost`N`Goblins in 3D. Fabulous game, the first Maximo is also good, but this is an overlooked Gem. Some nice Bosses aswell, imagine a huge mechanical chicken with gattling guns running towards you

My missus has just started playing Bejeweled 2 on our PC and iMac, probably not for out for PS2/3 as well - I dunno.
That really looks and sounds like an Amiga game, in fact I'm sure it was one? I never had it though (for the Amiga). |

on the PSP (close enough!) there is a homebrew game called 'Kosmodrones' i think.
it's inspired by Turbo Raketti 1 / 2 on the amiga, which in turn means its a lot like Gravity Force / GF2 / Gravity Power. Really polished sound and graphics for a homebrew game too. obviosuly the PSP also has Lemmings and Worms new versions (pah!) |

My google searches have not shown it to be a true Amiga game (i.e. one that originated on that platform), but it's uncanny how Amiga-like it is. Can anyone explain this? Even the music sounds like the Paula chip |
