Amiga 1000 Keyboard - Curious Question

Hi All

Firstly apologies if I have posted my question in the wrong place here!

A quick question - why do some A1000 keyboards have what look like
stickers on them but others do not? The one's I am referring to are UK machines with the blue Commodore logo on the lower left of the base unit.

Anyone got one? If you take a look at your 1000's keyboard, on the numeric pad and on some of the letter keys there is a small square outline on the key top
that looks like a sticker (keys 1,2,4,5,7,8,9) but not on keys 3 and 6.

Does anyone know why this is?

Do UK machines have the GB keyboard layout? If so, mines a US machine I guess but I certainly don't have anything that looks like stickers on the keys. Mind you they're a bit grubby, I guess there could be something hiding under there

Thanks for your reply MartinW.

I found out that some A1000's were supplied with European keyboards and so had key stickers placed over certain keys for the UK.

Maybe Commodore had not got round to making UK keyboards at that point.

I've had a german A1k keyboard with stickers on it.. Pretty common I guess. :-)
