Hey Toni Wilen,
Are there plans to optimize and perfect the larger partition support and remove it from the test phase and increase the size limit to more than 1 TB? I am just curious. Right now I have a 232 GB partition (heheh love every bit of it) and I believe it is a power issue I could be wrong but when I transfer large data on it or leave it idle the hard drive make the TICKING sound as if it is powered off and I get huge error message. I have to reboot the system before it comes back again. My thinking my power supply cannot constantly give it full power juice all the time so there is a power drop or something. I am going to switch the power supply configuration and have my power supply get full power from the wall (power supply) and my DVD reader get's it's power from the Amiga power supply. But I was thinking something more different. I was thinking of having both devices get their own power separately by their own power supply. I am intending to do that. I love having large partitions...especially when I don't feel guilty feeling it with PDF files, ROM images and applications/games. I love using my DVD player to watch movies on them and transfer datas through it. |

PFS3AIO v3.1 Final
Explanation is still the same: it won't become official until someone makes good enough test program (that automatically fills the partition and does all kinds of file accesses and also checksums each file). Only if it survives multi-hour testing of this kind: it can be considered safe
Max partition limit is already about 1.6T. There are 4 "limits": original ~5G (1k "smalldisk"), original ~104G (1k), new 411G (2k) and 1.6T (4k). Internal index block size doubles each time max size increases. |

As this was getting way off topic; all posts related to testing PFS3AIO have been moved here: Testing PFS3AIO

No PFS3 driver (kernel or FUSE) exists unfortunately.

I can confirm after disabling Deldir the problem is gone. So Deldir is the culprit. |

Hopefully this can be reliably duplicated by some kind of test program that creates lots of files, waits a bit, then attempts to delete them. Without test case it is too annoying to debug..

Hi Toni
I see in the git repository there are some commits since the last release on Aminet including fixes from upstream. As I'm in the process of setting up a new 3.1.4 install doing research I read that a pfs3aio bug was found in 3.1.4 testing, so I was wondering if there is a newer pfs3aio binary with those changes available? What benefit, if any, is there of putting pfs3aio in rom? (I am making my own custome Kickstart Roms) Also are there any gotcha's I shuold be aware of when using PFS with a FastATA IV on A1200? Thanks in advance. Last edited by loonsta; 31 March 2020 at 18:52. |
