Evil grin A500 workbench and software setup...

A500 / ACA500Plus / ACA1233n / PlipBox / RapidRoad USB / Boobipp 2Mb Trapdoor expansion / Chipset upgraded to ECS / Internal Floppy / External enclosed Gotek usb emulator

"flicker fixer" soon to be ordered

What would be your ideal software setup as far as workbench and addons?

The ACA1233n has the 68882 50Mhz FPU and matching oscillator installed and working like a charm.

Will be makeing a clear custom case useing "Lexan" scratch/break proof plastic in the future.

Extreme make over as my signature says lol.

Its going to be badass with all the LED's flickering through and lighting up the clear acrylic case.

Anyway, what would be your ideal CF card setup including file system?

Classic Workbench? Workbench 3.1? 3.1.4? 3.X.X?

What would you consider the limits as far as implementing software!

Would you change any hardware? Leave the hardware as is?

Pics to come as case progresses.

For those specs I'd probably consider some WB3.9 build, maybe ClassicWB. I am running CWB 3.9 on my A1200 with ACA1232 and I think it is a suitable choice for that CPU. Being ECS you probably cannot go higher than 8 colors, but it is still possible to make it look nice.

Ok, now what would be the normal needed software addons to make it current and work top notch for the times?

I have what i believe to be the basics, but i want to make sure i have everything top notch for the best expierence and operational up time.

Always loved magicWB, still using it with with 3.1 on my 2000, looks beautiful in 8 colours.
But then again I'm a little old-fashioned. I have had a CD of 3.9 for years and haven't even installed it yet.

Notice that ClassicWB != Classic Workbench. ClassicWB is a fully loaded compilation so you should not be missing much.
I would suggest looking at the FULL pack:

MagicWB is another popular choice, so you can look at what they have to offer and decide which one to go for.

Personally I'd go with "ClassicWB Lite" given your hardware; and has great functionality without loads of bloatware.

This will also use the minimum amount of Chip RAM so be good for 99% of games.

Currently running the Full version of Classic WB with no issues. I have another CF card im running the new 3.1.4 on but it seems kinda like it doesn#t like alot of software and its bugging out alot, so im going to wait a bit for 3.1.4. Also 3.1.4 WILL NOT install into classic WB... any thoughts on that?

Are there any updates or tweaks i need to do to a WB Classic full setup? Anything to delete/remove, tweak, install? Is the @antivirus@ really necessary on these antiques?
