I did two games and twice I was stuck in the same place
Floppy version or Whdload, same thing...
If anyone knows the problem and knows how to solve it, please give your solution because there I don't want to play the game again for now!

Maybe try cycle-exact Amiga 500-emulation?

I remember there is a bug on the Aliens levels where if you drop in to a spikey ball in a corner, sometimes you get stuck in the wall of the corner. As John says, the crash you saw in the screenshots is more likely a cycle-exact bug. Im playing using my 030 setup with the WHDload version V1.5 2633 and its fine. I also add the tooltypes Nocache and Novbrmove as well, just to make sure. I never switch cycle exact off, as it causes too many issues.

This game has issues - on my 20 setup it creates often trash-walls blocking the way and on my 30 setup it doesnt let me enter the highscore table.

Okay, then cycle exact 000 emulation is advised (with IPF or ADF).

That jumping scene in Alien levels is way too difficult for my skills. Lost probably 6 lives.

Killed all enemies, got all lives but missed 2 gems on the last level, damn ... And will not start again for 2 gems.
This game is the longest, but easiest, kill'em up/platformer we have played this season. The gold suit is really cool

I killed all enemies, catched all diamonds so for me a score higher than 252k is not without milking (volontary or not). I think we must change the scoring system for the Knockout in case...
I will not replay, I'm in vegan mode for this round

Otherwise the game is far too easy, too many lives.
Technically it's better than the first two opus but I think I prefer Turrican 1 or 2.
It's missing a shoot'em up level and I'm not a fan of grappling.
There are also too many bugs.
That said it's still a good game!

Don't know if I have to post here or in the "embarrassed question" thread, but since UK in not my mother-tongue, let's ask here

What does "milking / no milking" means ?

Basically it's a technique to make more points because of the programmer who didn't plan to reset the score after losing a life.
After losing a life, we can kill the same enemy again and again as long as we have lives in stock.
This problem is unfortunately very common in games on 16/32 Bits.
What is embarrassing is that you can do this technique in spite of you; which I am sure, is the case for this round.

There are also other cases of example, you don't need to lose a life when an enemy reappears to infinity
Example here: [ Show youtube player ]
Turrican3 cumulates the problems...

Thanks rexsu. Now I understand.

I did play from scratch quite a lot in the beginning of the round and didn't see this "milking" possible with Turrican 3. In fact, as soon as an enemy is killed, when you loose a life, the enemy does not reappear (while searching for the gems (especially on the underwater level and on the Alien level), I came back the whole way and it was only a desert (no enemies)). So I can say that only the enemies that you don't kill are present (you can gain so much 1-up in this game that I didn't care to loose one or two searching for secret passage ). After the underwater level, I found theses maps and after these ones that helped me loosing less time hunting gems and 1-up . If I remember correctly, I finished the game with more than 30 lives left, so more than enough...

What I have noticed indeed is that sometimes enemies disappears if they go out of the screen (while you move to another direction) and when you return they are no more present. If the enemy disappears, you have to go away (not to far, but far enough) and come back to see him again. But I never saw duplicates. Same apply for gems and 1-up, never saw duplicates.

Maybe there is a difference between the IPF (2633) I finally played and the ADF that is available in the 1st post. I began with the ADF and changed to the IPF on the underwater level as I was not able to find all gems (I don't tell you how much times I restarted from scratch for 3 missing gems ).
Anyway, IPF or ADF, there are invisible gems and 1-up on the underwater level...

But as mentioned level 5 is another story, even if I missed two gems, it's too long to play again from scratch up to the end...
Hope the winner has chosen "SotB III" for next round (I didn't check what people have voted )

To conclude: it's the first time I played Turrican 3 (was not a fan of the series back in the day) and have to admit that I quite enjoyed it. Except for the invisible gems/1-up on the underwater level, I can add that I did not face any blocking bug with the IPF (like the one you mentioned in post #2 or the one Harry mentioned).

Great stuff guys.

John scored 261,673 last time we played it, and this proves a high score is possible by cleaning up every level. He did not milk any respawning enemies. I milked 10 face huggers, so thats why we added the no milking rule this time.

The score leaderboads are currently a bit flakey, but Im pretty sure EAB are in the lead.

At 13:00 and 1:35:30 I died due to time out and then collected the content of a treasure box again: a 1up (13:00) and weapon upgrades (1:35). Both had no effect on my score as they don't give any score in Turrican 3. Also my weapons were already fully upgraded and weren't downgraded at 1:35:30 because of the golden armor.

Except for time outs I didn't lose any lives. It was a chore to go through this again - especially the awfully long Alien world.
If this game gets voted for the Knockout I suggest we play in Maniac mode. At least that's a challenge (there are no extra lives).

It's infinite spawning enemies or objects that are worth points which you are not allowed to take advantage of - like the face huggers in this game.

This game has a problem that in some places it can't display all enemies at once so you will sometimes encounter new enemies when you return to places that you've cleared before. Destroying those is not milking!
Every normal enemy (except face huggers) only appears once. When you die they don't reappear.
Only treasure boxes can respawn when you die but they don't have an effect on your score.

Eh eh... If the score table is the final one, looks like I got the chocolate medal.
No "milk"ing, black chocolate for me then

The return of Super League OG blade002 (who was there from the very first round) brought almost total annihilation of the Lemoners.
EAB now leads 4-2 in the team battle.

The GOLD medal goes to yours truly.
Harry takes the SILVER and now has 11 like capehorn.
Finally lifeschool completes the podium and takes another BRONZE medal.

Also congratz to malko for taking the DARK CHOCOLATE medal!
