Restoring a Bricked ACA500 Plus

I need the wisdom of experienced Amiga users,
I only got into the Amiga Scene a year ago. The Amiga 500 hitting the 30 year old is a hella a machine and I'm spewing I didn't have one back in the hayday.

I have recently purchased an ACA500 plus but within minutes I've rendered it bricked.... I put in some bad settings and was never able to get back to the main menu. Ive tried downloading the latest firmware, (Run the ACA500 in debrick mode [ 0_] Boot the firmware update "UPD500P.ADF", It updates and asks for a reboot. As it reboots DisMo gets to the hex # A4 a message comes up about check sum (Nothing about Check sum error) and transitions from a Dark Grey to white and locks up. when I do the Ctrl+A+A DisMo counts up to A4, then different colour blank screen comes up, it flickers then starts the cycle again and repeats. Being a new product there isn't much info from the Manufacturers that is of much help.

Anyone that can help me would make my day,
My Amiga is a Rev5 1988 A500 with 512K Ram (Trapdoor ram has just died and removed).

Some unofficial help: if you have new enough firmaware, try setting F8 page boot mode to "sync" and see if it helps.

You can always restore older (or newer) version by powering up with button pressed (EDIT: boot normally, keep button pressed until display changes, about 3 seconds) and booting from floppy disk that has upd500p.adf disk image written.

I've unbricked mine successfully -- I had the generation of a500 which had startup problems on older firmware.

Sounds like you are running the debrick correctly. Have you tried the 0.89 firmware?
