Classic workbench + WHDload on stock amiga 1200
Dear All
I have a stock Amiga 1200 without any memory extension and a Workbench Classic + WHDload on a CF. (It was created mostly as described here [ Show youtube player ]) and I have quite a few problems. - If I run workbench it eats up all memory and no applications can be started - If I start the machine with "skip startup sequence" I can have more memory and I can start some applications from command line, still many games don't start up due to insufficient memory Is there any solution that allows me to run most games from CF? Is there anything better than the home made WB classic on CF |

With a stock A1200 you are limited to running games off floppy disk or a few from hard drive. You need a memory expansion to use WHDLoad, or even better is a 030 accelerator board with RAM expansion. That combination is the ultimate WHDLoad machine.

You need a memory expansion. 8mb is usually more than enough to run any whdload installed game, 4mb will cover most of them. You do not need an 030 or other cpu, a simple ram expansion is all that is required.
