So since you can install Linux and connect a keyboard and mouse to the PS3, it's a computer?

the amiga is a computer for sure, you can program it etc just by typing things in! if you want to make a ps3 game for example you would have to buy extra kit to do it!

Amiga is without discussion (and any discussion about it is STUPID) a computer.
CD32 was a lousy attempt to make a nice computer into a console (and CDTV an even lousier) |

LOL, yes. Commodore killed itself. The Amiga died a "naturally" death, the 2D aera (exception was the gameboy) was over in 1997.
I would prefer a Amiga with CD-Rom and a plain (unexpanded) CD32, if i really need to play CD32 games. |

I remember back in the days when I was at school, people were buying PCs. Whenever I suggested that they should buy an Amiga, they all said Amiga's are gaming machine.
Anyway, regarding the poll... It is silly... Computers (including an Amiga) are not consoles... PCs have many games, but they are not consoles even if you hide the keyboard. |

I suppose the definition of a console is an non-expandable static gaming construct.
heres one... only comes with a few games and you cannot buy any more games for it. I actually used to have one of these |

Yeah I still get the 'it's a games console' carp too and it does my head in. Did a lot with mine before I got a PeeeCeee - word processing, graphics, BBS malarky... ah those were the days. The only thing I never liked on the Amiga was web surfing. Not much fun on a 6mb A1200 and nout else The only reason I got a CD32 over a 1200 is because all the AGA stuff I like I've got for the CD32. No messing with floppies and easy to work with - get the extra's bits with cd32 aga stuff too I would've gone with WHDLoad but again it comes down to expense and it would've cost a few hundred (memory expansion/accelerator/harddisk) for that which is pointless as I tend not to use my Amiga's 'that' much these days with work and what not. |

So did I. Back in the old days I hate everone saying it was a game machine, I used it for everything a computer should do. But today I don't see the point in using an amiga for anything else but gaming I dont think the amiga today can do something the PC can't |
