[Found: Star Fleet I: The War Begins!] Star Trek-like, probably not licensed
This game was a lot like the old Star Trek games you could play on university mainframes, the main feature being a top down view of quadrants around your ship, like a map - I think that would be the top right of the screen. To the left information about your ship - at the bottom a set of text output. Action was t-urn by turn and graphics very simple.
This was a game someone gave me as a copy when I had an Amiga 1000. I am pretty sure it was not a shareware, almost certainly not officially licensed - no pictures of Kirk etc. like the later ST game. Looking in the Wikipedia articles this game is not described so they may have changed the title/alien names just enough to avoid legal problems. Anyone? |

The old mainframe Trek game got commercialized on home micros as Starfleet -- I have a feeling this is what you are probably thinking of:
