Programming with cps1 / neogeo?

I wonder if there any guy who develop with 68k CPU based console like MVS or CPS.
Is there any hardware reference doc available on the net? Also , which platform to use for coding, debugging, etc?
I'm just curious because I never programmed with consoles

Yes, and yes, although not necessarily in that order (for MVS at least) :P
Search for Neo Geo development manual using the Googles, and you will find what you seek (and also visit the Neo Geo Dev Wiki).

Vasm for code, MAME debugger build for... debugging.
It's a seriously weird system, basically everything you see is a sprite (including backgrounds in games, etc) - quite different to most console/arcade h/w - but then that's the fun

Thank you very much for the info.
I have a first look at the manual, I'm not sure if it cover all the memory addresses needed to develop.
Btw I have also found this interesting site, also useful for beginners:

Hope that CPS also have some resources on the web

All the memory addresses are in the dev manual, otherwise it wouldn't be very useful to developers

I think maybe Charles McDonald played around with CPS-1 stuff, I vaguely remember someone releasing a little intro/test rom?

If you are interested in Neo-Geo, I can share my 'template' stuff, not that I've coded anything advanced on Neo-Geo but it shows simple initialisation, sprite setup/movement etc...

Sure I'm interested, anything you want to share would be really appreciated
Also, for beginners is important to know all software and tools for developing:
Sprite design, background, music, etc.
I saw some tutorials which use gnu make, however I guess that Windows users can use minigw also
