Vlad,
your case is totally different from what we've fixed with this update. This one is for 68040 and 68060 systems where the driver refused to work on some systems, but worked on others. Yours is a 68030 system, where other reasons may play a role. I actually developed the whole thing on an A3000 with 68030, so I think that it's just a minor thing to fix in your system. Please contact your reseller (or me directly if you've bought the unit directly). Jens |

Yes, there's a few positive reports on a1k.org.
I guess that Vlad's problem is similar to what I've had a week or two ago with another customer: He installed a Buster-11 in a 16MHz board, which does not work (Buster-11 requires 25MHz clock for the 68030 processor). However, Vlad does not seem to be my direct customer, so please contact your reseller and sort out the problem with him. Jens |

How soon do you think I'll be getting my X-Surf-100 and Rapid Road sent back to me? I am assuming this posting is in reference to my situation. |

Can you elaborate on this? It's a pain reading German forums trying to get the information needed.
What kind of setups have had success with this new driver? You say "some"... Is that a few, most of all or 50/50 that had a success with this driver? |

There is not a single one on a1k that gave a negative report. I have a few more eMails from 3640 users who can now use the setup in Z3 mode.
What's so difficult in replacing a file on your harddisk and try it out? To me, it seems like all the "negative" reports (before software update) have now silently updated and don't complain any more. That's very common in product support: If the problem is solved, there is no more feedback, but if the problem persists, eMails continue. At this point, there is not a single open case from 040/060 users, so my guess is that the problem is solved for good. Jens |

I have not time to follow the situation (i'm here once per month or even less :/) Would you be so kind and send me even empty PM if any new drivers will come up? I got the same problem as You. |

Jens,
I'm sending you emails since some months about my defective RapidRoad that you accepted to take back and haven't received an answer from your side. Do you receive my emails ? I'm sending them to your email address (edited). I'm Renaud Schweingruber Thanks in advance Best Regards |

I just wanted to ask whether I am doing it right (with blizkick) and how to get rid of this problem that often appears after booting WB.

damn, tried out out the replacement driver. still getting nak(10) error.
maybe im missing something in the software setup. doing a fresh install now. been a while since i turned this machine on. Question, does the RR need external power? Or can the xsurf100 supply all it needs? Last edited by zharn; 03 March 2017 at 11:41. |

RapidRoad can deliver up to 1.5 amps of power to each of the two USB ports. That's three times the specified power of a normal USB port, so it should be enough for very power-hungry devices. Unfortunately, it's not possible to draw this amount of power from the Zorro slot only. If you are not using an active (powered) USB hub for such power-hungry devices, you should make a direct connection to your power supply with one of the floppy-power connectors. You can use any of the two white power connectors of RapidRoad. |
