UnPacking XPKF files ?

Midi files specifically

I have some Midi files that will play on the Amiga
- but be much longer than they should be
- IE lots of silence at the end

The PC/Win 7 will not play them at all

if you only want to listen to your file without modify them, you can use PDPro that crunch/decrunch files on the fly transparently.
If you need a tool with a graphic interface to pack/unpack file in XPK format, you can have a look to Xpk-Knight

Cheers.

personly i would use XPKPatch http://aminet.net/util/pack/XPKPatch18.lha freeware does the same job pdpro does.
from the readme

This program makes work with XPK, PowerPacker or CrunchMania datafiles
and executable files crunched with XPK or PowerPacker in PPLoadSeg mode
much easier. This is the successor to PowerPacker Patcher (PP) and
Run-time Data-Decruncher (RTDD) by Michael Berg and Thomas Schwarz
respectively.

After installing the program, system will see files crunched with the
above-mentioned crunchers as if they were normal files.

So from now, loading XPK, PowerPacker or CrunchMania datafiles into your
favourite program (text editor, graphic program, etc.) which does not
recognize these files itself, does not make troubles.

Here's how you can unpack a lot of files with Dopus4 with a click, without run them patch (only requirements)

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Hd...cKozBeULpEjvdL

Dopus4 Config:

AmigaDOS SYS:c/Lx {f}

- CD Destination
- Directory Opus To Front
- Do All File
- Output Windows
- Recursive Directories
- Run Asynchronously
- Workbech to front

if you don't use Dopus then it's ok "XPKPatch" recommended by andy2004, once executed it will do the same work as LX, only problem and you have to run it again to stop it.

Tested XPKatana on OS 3.1 and seems to work well even though the other methods mentioned are more practical and faster.
