Question Competition Pro joysticks

not many of you will be aware that I have quite a fetish for this particular brand of joystick unfortunately only the generic black/red and the smaller "mini" clear/red models are being sold at the moment... I'm curious about the other "special edition" colours as well, I've heard that these are quite rare...anyone got any pics of these rare CompPro colour-schemes?

I miss these old joysticks...*sniff!*

I know of one limited editon competition pro.........

my old modified one....I changed it to a "two" button version and also added better springs to aid rapid shooting....the only problem was that the springs were too powerful and the buttons tended to fly out of the joystick and across the room :eek

Competition Pro Star EXTRA

I have this one, and it features slow motion and autofire controls. It's available in 'mini' form, I wish I had one!

Do you need to replace the cable to add second button functionality or are there enough wires inside?

Had my CompPro 5000 Clear w/ red stick (2nd post by rattus) since, erm, ?87/88? (can't remember). But you need to do the one mod that makes this most perfect of sticks even better (besides the two button fix) and that's to add a little silicone grease around the support ring - helps stop squeak and improves speed, smoothness and accuracy.

Mine's been in constant use (almost) since I got it and it's still as good today as when I got it.

Quite simply the toughest and best joystick money can buy.

Must admit, I do like the original Atari square jobs as well, but they break far to easily.
