cost of A1200
Am I missing something here?
I've just browsed ebay, in truth was looking for an 1200 ram expansion. However there is a listing, for a bone stock A1200, with mouse, powerpack, joystick CF PCMCIA adaptor with 512 Mb card, and 2 boxed games (cannon fodder, and Chaos Engine). 2 days to go, 39 bidders and is currently North of £2K! It doesn't appear to even be boxed. Are A1200s really selling for that? |

Nah that's gotta be a joke unless it's like serial no 000001 or some extremely rare revision. They're going for around 200 these days which is still a lot in my opinion but a good example is getting harder to find.

I've heard these silly prices referred to as 'Place Holders'
I don't get it --- but then I don't sell on e-bay. Looking at that listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Commodore...EAAOSwePReSGG2 This does not appear to be one of those ! Last edited by Nobby_UK; 28 February 2020 at 22:23. |

The listing is here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Commodore...EAAOSwePReSGG2 I have no affiliation, the listing is nothing to do with me, so if it's inappropriate to link please remove. I'm very perplexed. It kind of raised my hopes that my A1200 with hard drive and lots of boxed games might be a retirement fund to cash in now |

The person that bid £2000 has 0 feedback. Probably a fake account trying to push the price up.

so it would appear that when the listing was at £124 a zero feedback bidder put in a bid for £2K which I expect was a typo.
However since then another bidder with 420 feedback has been determined to outbid. Something odd, and now clearly not a genuine auction listing, I'm happy that I'm not missing something |

Weird, when I click on the link the auction shows 0 bids. It has ended of course. I wonder if it was picked up as fraud.
