I'll pop up into the loft either this or next weekend and get them down. I'm not sure I fancy their changes of working, but if they do I have a go at ADFing them for you.

I say "have a go", as I'm sure the reason they're not available online is that they can't be converted to ADF's. I could be wrong, though.

I've got some Amiga computing disks here but they are labelled month and year e.g. "august 1995", with no disk numbers or issue numbers.

So I don't know if I have the ones you need.
They are:
Aug 1995 2 disks
Sep 1994 2 disks

I will check my box of AC disks, may have a few missing ones. But do you mean scan images and not disk images?

Disk images first, If you can also provide disk scans, then that would be a bonus.

BTW, I found Ac disks #98 in your uploads folder. The disk scans are MIA on AMR so if you have those and could scan them, then that would be great.

ok, found both coverdisks of #98 (apr-96) back. One is titled "Utilities Unlimited II" and the other is "Capital Punishment" demo game. Will scan soon. Can I scan both floppies on the same scan or do they need to be seperate?

I was a bit confused by your list so apologies....

I am assuming you are after scans of the covers of disks. I haven't updated my lists in ages and would take me like forever to go through all my disks so a quick scan of an outdated list shows these from your uncrossed list..

Computer Shopper
Christmas 96 JetPilot
Apr 97 Turbo Print 3
Apr 97 PC Task V4
May 97 Applesizer
May 97 Monster Utilities

CU
8 Robocop and Lemmings
11 Human Killing Machine
137 Primal Rage

Shopper
65 Aug 96 AlphaSpell

Probably misunderstood and I as I say, sorry in advance.

You can check out my lists from the website of magazines, cd's and disks. I have quite a lot. Just takes a time finding them.

Mags at the top then cover disks etc.

Hi scuzz,

I did see your site and I thought to myself 'If only he had some scans available', and here you are

Actually a lot of Amiga Shopper disk label scans are missing on AMR (Amiga Magazine Rack) so yes they would be appreciated (not just by me)

Most of my missing list is of the actual disks themselves. Either in adf/dms or whatever format.
If you have the time, have the disks and don't mind making adf/dms of the disks then that would be great.

I can also make a list of the missing label scans, these come in very handy for indexing the disks and I'm sure AMR would appreciate it too.

Hi

I am very new to the English Amiga Board, so apologies for my ignorance at times. I do kinda live in my own world. I have like mountains of disks, and I mean mountains. Bit like everything else really. I found another box of disks just two days ago. I stopped cataloguing way before 2008 and have been steadily building adf images of all my disks as I come across them. Trouble is I hadn't been making scans of disk covers.

I recently acquired another scanner as my SCSI unit died. I was going to simply add sections to the website and build it steadily. I have many disks in specific boxes, and the Shopper ones are actually out ready to scan. I also have a CD that I acquired some while back with most of the disks for the most popular cover disks on.

I have literally hundreds, thousands I guess of magazines, and again the other day whilst searching for something I found another two stacks of the magazines. Again I was going to recatalogue cus I stopped in around 2008 but I know I have acquired quite a lot since that date.

Anyway, top and tail of it is that I can, and will get round to trying to help. I have several projects on the go and will divert my attention from my demo disk archiving to cover disks and see if I can fill in some of your holes.

Just as an aside while I waffle on... one thing that really annoyed me about cover disks is the way certain magazines couldn't keep the format for the disk name, icon, reference number the same. Also I put the disk in and on lower resolutions the icon could appear anyware. And sometimes like the early Amiga Computing could fill the screen. I am aware also that sometimes users extract the disks onto the cover disks. So I very often need two or maybe three copies before I can be sure I have the right disk.

The good news is that disks are surviving the test of time. That has amazed me. They really fail very rarely. With all the thousands of disks I have the only disks that fail are users own disks that have been hammered.

PS I also have several shelves full of used disks that are full to the brim with cracked games... So funny Cannon Fodder disks by the bucket full.

PPS Many of the disks are still in their plastic sealed covers attached to magazines. Those disks cannot be extracted from the sleeves.

PPPS Best cover AF Uridium green clear plastic disk. Sadly that one is protected and I have no skill in copying it.

Back soon

Also reminds me that Amiga Computing started to use coverdisks with the label just stuck over the "original" label, which were Wordperfect MS-DOS disks!! (you could still read the original label name on the top side of the label)

examples I have here at hand are:

Jan96a -WP Supplement disk (c) 1990
Jan96b -WP Figure Library 1 & 2 (c) 1990
Feb96a -WP Printer 1 (c) 1990
Jun96a- WP Speller/Thesaurus 1 (c) 1989
Jun96a- WP Install/Learn/Utilities 1 (c) 1989
