Elbox 4xEIDE and CD-ROM Name

Hi there

It has been a very long time since I last played with an Amiga.

I towered my Amiga 1200 years ago and used the Elbox 4xEIDE adapter to get both a Hard drive and CD-ROM drive attached.

My mechanical hard drive died and recently put a CF card in.

I’ve installed the software for the adapter but it has mounted the CD drive as CD2.

How do I change the mounted ID to be CD0 please?

Open Devs/DosDrivers and rename CD2 into CD0, then reboot.

I’m just using the Elbox provided software which installs AllegroCDFS. It’s working 100% now.

If you only use two IDE devices, you do not need AmigaMagic.
Amigamagic enables support for 4 IDE devices on the built-in IDE controller.
What interface are you using to support 4 IDE devices?
How are the jumpers on the IDE devices set (are they set correctly ? )?

@Nor Bert. Who are you directing your question to? If me, then both the SD drive and Laptop CD drive have no jumpers on them. So have no option but use the Elbox EIDE buffer as both devices appear as Master default devices. So will not work as Master Slave combos off 1 IDE channel.

worked great with OS3.14 but not with OS3.2 that’s when AtapiMagic was needed to make it work…it was working fine for a while but for some reason it stopped working for me

can you please copy your actual S-S as noted above I’ve had it working ok with OS3.2 but for some reason it stopped working…I tried my CD drive in another system and it works
