Paul Overa Companion Disks, Total Amiga Assembler

Hi amiga coders.

Uploaded to the zone are the companion disks to Paul Overaa's

Total Amiga Assembler (1 Disk)
Programming Secrets (2 Disks).

Can some one please add them to TOSEC please for future reference.

Cheers Red^blade

On total Amiga Assembler, I think Chapter 12, one of the shell examples crashes the amiga, I believe it is because he didn't link the binary properly to amiga.lib for the function _printf.

When viewed with Amiga Monitor by Timo Rossi it only loads 1 segment, where some of the other programs have 4 or more segments in the executeable.

It's example 4 in chapter 12 and you are totally right, it isn't properly linked. Thus instead of executing printf it executes a jsr $7 which of course crashes the machine.

I would LOVE to have Total Amiga Assembler disk, but I guess I'm 1 day late from fetching it off the zone
I bought the book not very long ago (second hand ofcourse), and this would be nice to have so I don't have to type over the examples again

Nice post!

Hi petemaxi,

I have these disk images on one of my old harddisks. I'll upload them tomorrow for you if nobody else has by then.

Never let the fact that a thread is old put you off resurrecting it. And the same thing applies to resurrecting old computers here on EAB - especially Amigas!

Check again, please, Bip - I have never linked directly to the Zone!

That link was only to avoid the usual "How do I access The Zone?" question
