Thunderboy

Heya guys,

...was looking at Thunder Boy tonight.

The disk "Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr TWL][h HTI][b corrupt files].adf" is the only one that has all screens when booting:

Plus, it also doesn't have a hacked "Thunderboy" title screen:

...unfortunately though the files "data402" & "data403" are corrupt

There's no .IPF available, so have now fixed this by copying the above files from another version

Attached for anyone else that wants it.

@TOSEC guys; these files should be renamed as the trainer is forced:
  • Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr Tristar][t MGF].adf --> Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr Tristar][t MGF][forced unlimited lives].adf
  • Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr Tristar][t Random Access][v Sinister Syndicate 1].adf --> Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr Tristar][t Random Access][forced unlimited lives][v Sinister Syndicate 1].adf
Attached Files
File Type: zip Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr TWL][h HTI].zip (396.9 KB, 19 views)

PackDev and MFMWarp images created from my original disk:
Code:
http://www.media!fire.com/file/dcldzxei85fpa71/Thunderboy.tar.gz
Copy-protection is on cylinder 0 side 1. It should be possible to write the protection track back from the MFMWarp image and get it to work.

Thanks mark_k; but that's definitely beyond my novice skill level

...what would be good though, is if some coder / cracker grabbed your file and then cracked / trained (unlimited lives on / off) properly

Maybe Galahad or Flashtro (mushasi9 / warfalcon) are up for the job?

musashi9 @ Flashtro has kindly cracked / trained Thunderboy

I'm sure he'll put this on the Flashtro website soon, but for now grab the file "Thunderboy (1988)(Rainbow Arts)[cr Flashtro][t +3 Flashtro].zip" from The Zone!

The Flashtro intro hangs at black screen on NTSC machine. The game would otherwise work fine. (At least some other cracked version I tested for about one minute did. )

Thanks for the effort!!
long before MAME, Thunderboy was the closest experience of Wonderboy on Amiga. Unfortunately it was utter crap.

Agreed

The C64 version is most definitely better. As a young boy I was blown away by this, great port of the arcade classic
