That gif was cool. No this was actually a volcano meant as feature for fish tank. Rather than pumping water I supplied it smoke from a mini fog machine I built using an ecig. It was well received lol.

UMSA does not require mains power? It is only 5V input and can be run off USB port from a computer - in my case a laptop. It performed as good as my makeshift cable but I liked how it automatically reverted to RGB input on power up and easy to add sound.

Mine came without a case. The acrylic is just 1 sheet on either side? I'm hoping a good friend will be able to print me a 3D enclosure for it.

It's optional, granted. I bought a 5V 2A mains adapter along with the UMSA, so, for the moment, I'll just keep using it. Maybe using a USB hub itself plugged to the mains could consist in a good compromise but if it works for you that way, all good.

The French company I bought it from didn't have the 3D enclosure for sale (UMSA is discontinued from their online shop anyway). Just googled a hobbyist project web site. johnyz designed one on his own initiative. Check it here. He shares the design publicly for anyone of us to have the case printed from a local 3D printer workshop if needed (archive includes pictures and Fusion 360 project files). Until then, I've wrapped mine inside a folded microfiber cloth to prevent the dust from gathering in. If you pass him over said archive, make that two

Looks great. Me and mini Havie (although he is probably about my height now) tried making a remote control car using lego mindstorms and then put a phone in place to stream the view to a pc which he programmed to control the car.. still a work in progress, sort of worked but no where as near as fun this!

I made an order from APC&TCP. Arrived yesterday.

I like my new TLS mouse mat, it is lovely as I really love the game and have it boxed:

Okay, everything was cheap and I was not expecting any wonders. But this really dissaponted me:

Burnt CDs without surface print and it two cases one sided inkjet paper supplying a jewel case inlay. The media looks like an office verbatim backup, this is nothing I would call original package and I could make the same in 10 minutes anytime

At least Marblelous 2 and Flying High in DVD boxes have some printed CD surface, although there is not a sign of a manual or something.

Browsing AliExpress I bought a Gotek for my A4000 on a whim. Butchered 2 USB A cables and installed Flash Floppy. Seems to work nice. I had a OLED display in stock so I added that.

Now to decide how to install it. Do I add it under my 3.5" drive or replace the 3.5"? Can't remember the last time I used a real floppy and space is limited in an A4000...

If I replace the drive I will probably need to 3D print a blanking plate.

Not bought today but recently got my A1200 recapped by RetroPassion and got it the following:

8Mb RAM upgrade, CF > IDE adaptor, PCMCIA CF adaptor and OS 3.1.4
Also got a MouSTer USB mouse adaptor and OSSC on the way
