Yep.

And a big thanks to Biscuit for sorting all this out for me whilst I was busy last night. Top work, much appreciated.

7

Maybe scoring is Pts + F - A?

In this case mailmans score would be -3?

I should be aware of the answer to that question but maybe i wasn't paying attention.

In order for our scoring tables to be able to place people properly, the score needs be represented by a decimal number, and tie breakers after the fact aren't helpful.

So i propose...
Mailman. 7 points, 1 goal differnece, 6 goals.
07,01,06 = 70000+100+6
Score = 70106

Lifeschool 1 points, -16 goal differnece , 0 goals
1,-16,00 = 10000-1600+0
Score = 8400

That seems the ideal way of scoring this.

I really suck at this, and I'm not a fan of the game either. Maybe I have been spoilt by other games like International Superstar Soccer 64 and Sega Worldwide Soccer '96 on other platforms??

If I understand correctly my score is 8,801 (points=1, goal diff=-12 and goals=1)

I am not into football, but i enjoy SWOS much more than expected. Control of the bulk is very easy for my skills with a new game. As a side effect, Lifeschool has now a goal.

6P + (-4Diff) + 8 = 59608.

Aston shot a goal in the 89. min, else i would have won one more game - but it should not be my last try.

For a second there I thought you were going to say International Soccer for the C64! [ Show youtube player ]. Really great gameplay for 1983. And they say Sensi was the pioneer... I used to enjoy I.S. a lot.

@ Harry - Thanks for the early heads up. I still need to be in front of you by 5 points at the end of this to get the win. With scores like this I may be able to beat you by just a few points, but probably not by a whole 5 places enough for the bronze. Will try anyway.

My favourite Amiga game ever! This is a bit of a challenge though, as I am used to playing in Career mode and just buying better players to improve my team whereas here there's no such luxury and a seven-game league leaves little room for error. So if I stop giving away daft penalties (which cost me four points in the end) that would doubtless help. My results were:

Liverpool 2-3; Man Utd 5-1; Newcastle 4-1; Arsenal 1-1; Sheff Wed 2-3; Chelsea 4-2; Aston Villa 0-1.

Better - I did draw my first three games though and still ended up with a worse goal difference and fewer goals scored. Results:

Sheff Wed 2-2; Chelsea 1-1; Man Utd 2-2; Newcastle 1-0; Arsenal 3-2; Aston Villa 3-2; Liverpool 3-1.

I struggle to win some more matches... At least i have won 2 now.

Otherwise, i spent this weekend playing Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, a game which reminds me on Lionheart. Still have to figure out how to beat the last boss.

Last night I scored 7 wins out of 7 I'll enjoy being top of the standings while it lasts I think! I had a couple of hairy matches and I actually had a player injured every game so I had to shuffle my side around a lot too. Also, in one game I had the bizarre situation where the ball stopped on the touchline and all the players just stopped for several seconds too, allowing me to nick the ball and then curl it round the keeper to score.

Results: Newcastle 1-0; Man Utd 3-1; Liverpool 3-1; Arsenal 3-2; Chelsea 4-0; Aston Villa 1-0; Sheff Wed 5-0.
