The aim is for Abime to reach a wider audience which means engaging with various types of social media for good or bad.

The wider scope (general retrogaming, movies etc.) is to avoid it becoming a niche interest channel. The number of Amiga users isn't getting bigger so it may reach people who never owned an Amiga. Also when people are interested in the Amiga they often have multiple other passions.

I'm all too aware of the tendency of some in the Amiga community to get something for free and then to complain that they didn't get two things for free but it's fun and I wanted to do it.

At the moment, YouTube seems more for storing videos for embedding in Mastodon channel posts. I started going directly to the YouTube channel and also didn't make sense of what was being posted. The content mix on Mastodon, the added context and how the medium presents itself, somehow, "feels right".
